They're not trolling. This is the SEC.

no flame, how does A&M respond IF manziel goes down? you always wonder when a scrambler is gonna take that awkward fall. i'd be interested to see how the offense performs and adapts with a new QB, considering all the praise he has gotten(earned imo).

Well, I think is a psychological thing, JM is feeling invincible right now, this will carry thru the season, I think he will take unnecesary risks wich will cause him to run in to defenders more often than not, until somebody hits him just right, then his luck will be over. JMO.

Speaking of adjusting...
Against the three best defenses JFF faced last year (LSU, UF, Alabama), they did adjust.
Texas A&M first half vs those three:
49 points (average 16.3 points per game)
Texas A&M second half vs those three:
16 points (average 5.3 points per game)
In all three games, A&M was either behind at the end of the half, or within one score of the opposing team, so one cannot claim that they had called off the dogs. They were still, very much, in a struggle.
JFF is an amazing talent and hard to stop, but those teams did adjust to him. The quick scoring of A&M kept them in two of them and won them the third. Alabama lost more so because of three crucial turnovers on strong drives (INT after 23 yards on 4 plays, fumble after 50 yards on 3 plays, and INT after 58 yards on 5 plays).
I will not try and demean A&M's victory over Alabama, but I will give credit where credit is due - while JFF had a great game and kept them in it, it was their defense that ultimately won them that game. Twice JFF had a chance to keep Alabama from winning it, and twice failed to get a first down (the first leading to the INT with Alabama 2 yards away, the second getting the first down from an Alabama player being offsides) when all he needed was one to pretty much end the game.

It just all depends if he avoids the dreaded sophomore slump or not. I agree with the other posters - it will be because of attitude if he does, not talent. Talent he has in spades, but will he remain focused with the spotlight shining on him from day 1?
I am not going to bother predicting one way or another. It will be hard to gauge how he is progressing at first, as Rice and Sam Houston State are not going to be more than a speed bump for A&M. Game 3, vs Alabama, will be the beginning or end of discussions of a repeat Heisman. A&M will not likely have enough high profile games to overcome a bad one against Alabama, with really only LSU and the potential SECCG to make up for it. A&M's SEC schedule is as light as Alabama's, obviously disregarding their matchup vs each other, and their OOC schedule is probably the worst in the SEC. Not A&M's fault, per se, as they had to scramble to rebuild their schedule.
Don't say that on a national board, though. Boise State fans will claim you were ducking them ;p

I saw Johnny face 3 good D's and improve as a QB from one to the next to the next culminating in beating Bama
Next he will beat the Ravens

If JFF goes down then the A&M little longhorns are a 7-6 team. Fact!
