Does Jimbo have the integrity to resign or will he continue to hold Aggy hostage?

He's entitled to the benefit of his bargain. It's not his fault the Aggies were a combination of desperate and gullible.

My gut feeling is that he’s not going anywhere.

I suspect that the majority of their fanbase don’t want to go thru hiring another coach. The boosters and leadership know that you can hit hiccups along the way.

They have no option but to be patient.

If he were to go, he’d take about 70% less on his buyout and retire.

These buyouts make zero sense for the universities.

I wouldn't if i was him. Hell, after the last year or so I'd do the minimum needed to keep the University from finding a loophole to fire me while I sit back on the sidelines and sip Mimosas during the game.

Jimbo will have enough money to not only set himself up for life, but his family for the next few generations with some smart investing. Make them hand you a very nice settlement to walk away.

I would, however, agree to knock 1 million off my buyout clause in return for A&M being forced to publicly display that blank national title award for the next twenty years. Preferably on the campuses of Texas, LSU, and Arkansas for the edification of their students and fans.

What would you do for $90M guaranteed and you were on the verge of retirement.
Jimbo has aggy over a barrel. I would do the exact same.

I think Jimbo is convinced he can turn things around.

I would be surprised if he even considered resigning.

Remember, his two biggest mentors are Bowden and Saban. Bowden coached well into his 80s, Saban will likely coach well into his 70s.

Jimbo probably figures he's got another 20 years in him.

Never really thought of that but that is a hell of a pedigree.

Makes one wonder. How he is this bad.

Sark's record thus far: 11-9

Tom Herman's record at this point in his tenure with teasip: 13-8

Charlie Strong's record at this point in his tenure with teasip: 11-10

Looking like Sark is just as good as Charlie Strong and not as good as the guy he replaced! Time for the donghorns to celebrate. Bring out the dildos, let's have a parade!!!

It’s more complicated than that.

He spent his whole life in football. As it stands now, he’d never have a serious job in the sport if he resigns.

He’d have money. But everything he built his world around would be gone. All he’d have left is a failed marriage and a son who has a terminal illness.

I don’t think he can psychologically quit for any amount of money. It’s turn it around at A & M or die for him, at least in his head.

People take advantage of Aggy because we are not willing to call in a hit.

That needs to change.

Anybody know a guy?

We get the right guy, we don't need to take out Jimbo. He'll be the best coach in the world.

So you're advocating for coaches to screw the schools they work for then?

How is holding a university to the terms of their contractural agreement that they fully vetted and agreed upon 'screwing' them?

True

An Auburn fan knows a lot about that.

I don’t blame him one bit. If I’m him, I don’t accept a dime less than what is owed me.
