Butch Jones hasn't won yet at Tennessee, and I believe there is a perfectly logical explanation for this. Brian Kelly coached at Central Michigan from 2004-06 leaving behind a MAC championship team for Butch Jones. Kelly leaves for Cincinnati, and in comes Butch "coattails ridin" Jones to take over CMU. Central Michigan wins two more MAC titles, and Jones takes credit for Kelly's outstanding work in building CMU into MAC power. Meanwhile during this time Kelly is off coaching at Cincinnati building them into a BIG East power. Kelly takes Cincinnati to one Sugar Bowl, one Orange Bowl, and two BIG East titles leaving for Notre Dame with 34-6 overall record at Cincinnati. Once again Butch swoops in to take over a solid program. Jones manages to take a BCS bowl team, and run them into the ground going 4-8 in first season. The following season though Kelly's recruiting pays off for Butch, and Jones wins enough games to share the Big East title twice. Now we're in year 4 of the Jones " Brick by Brick" rebuild, and Jones has yet to share a conference title with his highly regarded recruiting classes. Should we expect to see Butch Jones at Notre Dame next?

Well, I've been dumbfounded as to how Tennessee can still be the "youngest team" in the country at this point.
His attrition rate is pretty high it seems. Does that mean he won't do a good job? Not necessarily. But I don't know if he will ever field an elite team without being able to develop his talent over the course of four years.

Time will tell, I guess.

Butch walked into Dooley's mess and hasn't won yet because Brian Kelly didn't leave behind a championship team for him to coach to a shared conference title.

Butch "coattails ridin" Jones will never win the SEC East. Look at the facts; Jones blew a 17 point lead in fourth quarter to Oklahoma at home, 4th and 14 and give up 63 yard TD to Florida, nearly losing to South Carolina at home, and 2015 best win coming against Northwestern? Seriously?

So how have AL, LSU, OM, etc recruited in that time frame compared to UT? Has UT been expected to win the conference lately?

Well Missouri certainly hasn't recruited at Tennessee's level, and they have more to show for it

Why are you giving serious responses to this obvious alter?

Whether he can actually coach remains to be seen.

But the man can certainly recruit. He has stockpiled a good amount of talent at UT. Also, hiring Shoop was a huge deal. He's a top notch DC.

Some East titles? Those are cute. Because right now all you have to show for it is a team being projected to suck arse this year.
