I agree but with conferences over 13 teams no way everyone can play each other each season so no value as you could not have a true champion in each conference.

We don't have that now. Purdue, Kansas State, and LSU aren't suddenly the best teams in their conferences if they win next weekend.

Right, which is easy enough to address by making playoff wins worth more.

Ohio State doesn't deserve a shot at the playoffs! They played with No Heart, No Passion, and treated The Game like just another game! Hairball was right, Ohio State is soft! The Game is the one game you don't lose and certainly don't sleep walk through! Day has made this program soft. No adjustments at all! Perfect weather to air raid their arse but instead it was JJ doing that to Ohio State defense. CJ comment after the game "about one game doesn't define the season." Shows me all I need to know about Day's approach to The Game. Day is hopefully not John Cooper 2.0 but who knows! The Game is everything to both Ohio State and Michigan fans! Woody, Earl, Tressel and Meyer got that! Nobody who lived through the Cooper years as a Buckeye fan wants another Cooper as a Coach!! The play calling was ridiculous and they played scared! CJ refuses to run when he has open green grass was another problem. You don't have to be a running QB to make a run sometimes to get a critical first down. If Ohio State did get in the playoffs as #4 team. Georgia would kill them worse then Michigan! I honestly hope TCU vs Georgia in the Natty! I really don't care which one wins! The way it looks Georgia is going to repeat as Champs!

Congratulations. A lot of people watched your team get splattered….at home.

Everyone but you apparently knows it.

Follow the discussion or shut up.

Dude made a point earlier that the committee cares about views. Well, here they are.

Your "discussion" is absolute bullshite.

all your whining adds up to nothing more than you disagree with the committee so you think it's bad.

it's typical smooth brain boomer bullshite.

First one in if USC or TCU loses.

UGa and Michigan are in regardless.

TCU and USC are in if they win. I think OSU is slotted for 5 and ready to slide in with a TCU or USC loss. I think TCU could STILL be in with one loss. What about a 2-loss USC.

The committee says it values championships. Would 2-loss Clemson get a bump from winning the ACC?

I would say no only because they were already behind a 2 loss UA.

They aren’t. Their resume is better than Ohio State’s and they would only have one loss.

I’ll also add…I don’t want to see Bama slip in the back door any more than fellow SEC fans not pulling for the Tide. That said, this Bama team isn’t that great. They have an argument for the CFP, I just don’t think it’s as strong a case for OSU.

For chaos to ensue, USC and TCU have to lose. Then the candidates are…

1 loss OSU
1 loss TCU
2 loss USC
2 loss Bama
2 loss Tenn
2 loss Clemson (conf champ)

Not true for TCU unfortunately and maybe not UM. TCU is getting ready to play a 3 loss lower ranked KSU team and UM is getting ready to play a 4 loss unranked Purdue team. A loss may keep both from going.

It is true. There’s no one else remaining that would have a better resume than TCU with 1 loss or less.

We currently have conferences with 14 plus teams. So no way to play everyone in your conference to determine the best 2 teams at the end.

And they do not need to be the best based on what you are advocating for and what the 12 team expansion will do is allow teams like Purdue, KState, LSU, and UNC to get an automatic spot if they win and put teams in the playoffs that should not be there.

quote:

The committee should be dissolved.

It will not matter because once you go to 12 and give auto bids who cares how it will get decided. Because in the end it is about one thing and one thing only money. Not crowning the best team in the country.

The only way to add value by making higher seeds worth more is providing home field advantage at least until the semi finals. But they will push for neutral sites with some partnership in place that again will be dictated by money.

Again expanding to 12 does not do anything and to be honest expanding to 4 did not.

Bama’s best victories? Ole Miss and MSU? Texas? Bama is 10-2.

TCU is in over Bama even at 12-1. Ditto for Michigan and UGA. USC is in at 12-1.

OSU at 11-1 vs Bama at 10-2.

Whether they should or not, they will get the invite. Bama needs TCU to lose to get in.

Right...

Which we don't have now.

Only Kansas State and UNC would have a shot based on what I'm advocating for.

The committee still picks half the teams under the proposed format.

Not really. Give teams who win more than teams who don't. Easy day.

It didn't? The NCG has been 1 vs 2 three times since the playoff started.
