U have to have divisions to have a title game. I may be wrong on this and feel free to correct me. This is why the big 12 does not have one. they dont have enough teams to split into divisions plus they are in one conference

The SEC can't maintain permanent cross season opponents much longer

The day that UGA/AU and Bama/UT don't play yearly is the day the SEC will essentially die inside.

I understand the SEC is a corporation hellbent on maximizing profits and will do basically anything to bow down to the almight dollar, but there's something to be said for tradition, which is one thing that makes CFB 1000x better than the pros.

lol... no.

The divisional format and SECCG is what's made the SEC the King of Conferences.

What's helping their decision is the fact that Tennessee is down. IMO if Tennessee, LSU, Bama, Florida, and UGA were all top 12 teams the rest of the country wouldn't say shite. The SEC actually needs Tennessee to be good to keep some of the tradition

Yes they can. Alabama runs the SEC offices and they will always get what they want. They want to play their pussy arse game with Tennessee every year. No way in the world they give that up.

I'd rather just go back to a 12 team SEC.

I say 13 teams. Kick Missouri out

They've actually been more successful than A&M so both of them can go back to the Big 12 but that's more about the TV deal

Yes, playing the same 7 teams every year makes the seasons kind of indistinguishable.

We only change one conference team, one major OOC team and then the scrubs.

I miss the annual LSU game, too. Having Georgia and LSU on our schedule every year was the highlight of our football schedule. They are two of the best-traveling fan bases and our fans love to go there. I hope someday we can resume the annual series.

not the greatest example of cause and effect, but I enjoy watching LSU play UGA as well

It will be TWELEVE years before Bama makes a return trip to Athens, let that sink in how crazy and stupid that is.

LSU last played at South Carolina in 2008. They won't get back there until 2027.

Nineteen years.

A&M won't be coming to Lexington until 2025. It will have been 13 years since they joined the conference. We need to play 9 conference games.

Agreed. 9 conference games may have saved Auburn from the embarrassment against Jacksonville State, and Arky might have been able to avoid bolstering Toledo's resume.

9 conference
1 good OOC
2 creme puffs

That's fine.

We don't need 3 creme puff games a year.

Nick Saban has been lobbying for 9 SEC games since the most recent expansion. And literally every SEC program votes it down every year.

TBH Bama was the only school that would agree to a 9 game conference schedule.

Alleva went more in depth with his assessment that the mighty SEC was simply too powerful to play nine conference games. A 9-game SEC schedule would doom the league’s College Football Playoff chances because, by golly, everyone is just so good and can beat one another

IF the fans want 9 game conference schedule, then the fans should petition your AD's. Blow up their email and bombard them with letters - tell them what you want.

Because this shite has been voted down since Saban suggested it years ago. The SEC needs a 9 game schedule, but because Alabama/Nick Saban has wanted it for years now the rest of the SEC (all 13 teams) vote that shite down every year.

Why?
