Wow! LSU has a worse record, and fewer top 5 finishes, than the first 12 years of a Big 12 team - a “historically embarrassing” Big 12 team - after joining the SEC!

Why hasn't A&M played for a conference championship since 1998? What happened since 1999 that has caused them to be unable to have a championship team in nearly 25 years. Seems like a school with the resources of Texas A&M would be able to build a championship team with it failing spectacularly.

The biggest issue with A&M is that they extend coaches for the “direction of the program” and not what the coach has actually accomplished. There have been many examples over the last 20 years.
It’s like buying a ton of stock on speculation. You can easily lose your arse.

There was zero reason to extend Jimbo after 2020, he still had 7 years and roughly $52 million guaranteed to him.

Certain programs have to do what they have to do to remain relevant, regardless if it’s been earned or not.
Example #1 : Ole Miss giving Kiffin an extension and a raise after losing 5 of his last 6 games
