You keep on piling up those SEC banners, buddy. Hell, if they are so important to you, Bama can lend you about 20 of theirs, make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Meanwhile, Bama will keep on stockpiling the real hardware..

No one, at least me, has ever said bama does not have a great history and tradition. They were once a powerhouse team and they absolutely dominated LSU....hands down. However, over the last 25-30 years, things have changed significantly in the series.....lsu has pretty much dominated bama for the past decade.....and has 4 sec titles to 1 sec title. They also have the same amount of BCS Championships....While they are both great programs, but bama clearly is no longer the dominant sec program that they once were......whether the gumps agree or not.

They dominated when Bear Bryant could cheat and put players on the payroll to keep them form other schools. Schollie limitations and social media have changed the landscape.

The NCAA recognizes all of them,

that the ncaa recognizes a championship in which you finished ranked 20th in the nation, and behind 3 other teams in your conference, says it all.

he 9 poll titles are still more than anyone else.

this I have absolutely no problem with...these are mostly legit.......as I said....alabama once had a DOMINANT program....that is no longer the case in the SEC....they are still at the top of the ncaa though...as is LSU.

So we're taking away awarded poll titles now?

nope...there are plenty more before that to be removed....while everyone hates the bcs...at least it pits #1 vs #2....and a #1 ranked team doesn't get the luxury of playing, for instance, a #15 team, or an unranked team...because of bowl affiliations.

Once again having to explain to corndogs why national championships > conference championships.

BR...land of moral victories

I don't think there is one single poster that would say an SEC title is greater than a National Title.

Alabama is king of college football!!! There, happy?

they just aren't king of the SEC.

I feel like I went back 4-5 months in time with this thread. Yes, a national title means more than a SEC title, but that doesn't mean winning a SEC title isn't a big accomplishment.

Also, yes Alabama has some shoddy title claims, but they are still the best program of all time.
However, that doesn't mean that AU/LSU are bad programs, as they are both indisputably top 15 programs, and a case can be made for LSU as a top 10 program.

I can't believe people are still arguing about this.

2 of the last 3 championships.

Yep we're really struggling to succeed these days.

on the other hand, if bama loses 3 games and then struggles next year does it make him a mortal? or just a god in remission.

Corrected. Also added that Saban's bowl record - Also bowl record of 10 straight since 2000. (LSU 3-2; Alabama 4-1; total 7-3)

And one side note, Alabama has also won 2 AP national championships under Coach Saban. LSU did not win the AP.
