lol...You know that isn't going to happen. Even if we implode we will go 4-8. Sanford, UCF, Miss State and one out of the 9 better teams.

Samford is a W

Now we take either miss st or UCF, I think we lose to UCF tbh. Gus is a much better coach than Billy and kj Jefferson has already beaten us recently on a much worse team. I could see that being an L

Miss state I think should be a win but it’s in Starkville, however I still like our odds there

Possible... Hell, we could go 15-0.

UCF can run the ball. I guess if we still can't tackle something crazy could possibly happen.

This question will never be answered, but at 9-3 with this schedule they would deserve it.

A 9-3 record and they would deserve a spot.

I think that game will go based on our first month.

If we lose to Miami and/or A&M / Miss state we might be in trouble.

If we come into that game 3-1, we might have enough juice to win

I think people are going to be surprised to learn in the new setup and rougher schedules the SEC and Big10 won't produce more than 3 teams with 9 + wins most years and will have some years it's a tie for 3rd place with 8-4 records.

It’s not optimistic it’s about whether a 9-3 result with this schedule is good enough for a CFP spot. That is all.

if we lose to A&M we might be there halfway thru September

Can Ward is going to light us up week one. I’m thinking Miami wins 45-16

OP isn't saying Fla WILL go 9-3, he's asking about playoff chances IF they do.

My answer: it's very possible, depending on who they lose to, and how those teams do.

For example, when the schedule came out, I looked it over and realized that you could, in theory, have 3 teams go undefeated. Who plays who, and who doesn't= you can look at your own team's schedule, look at the schedules of who you DON'T play, and there are 2 others. That's very unlikely, because it's dependent on all three teams being good. And the combos vary from team to team.

However, here's where it gets interesting, and it does affect Florida in this scenario... one combination is LSU/Texas/Tennessee. All could have an undefeated regular season, because they don't play each other. All are expecting to be quite good, so it's not like you're saying Vandy or Arkansas running the table; it's possible for each. And all three play Florida.

Just for fun, let's say that happens, and Florida hangs in all three of those games, and wins the rest. You're talking a 13-0 SEC champ who's gonna be #1, another 12-0 team who might be as high as #2 in polls (but didn't even make Atlanta and won't get a bye), and a 12-1 team still in the playoffs. Do you penalize Fla for not beating THAT?

I'd say in that scenario, Florida is a guaranteed playoff team.

I am counting on Florida beating LSU.

That team lost to Rutgers to end their season last year.

I can absolutely see us losing the game, but not us scoring just 16 or losing by nearly 30.

Hard to say. What's not hard to say, is if the Gators go 9-3, Napier saved his job, the program is heading north with a bullet and Billy found another gear. He also gets my vote for SECCOTY.

In the Swamp I don't see any chance of a score like that either. Miami has improved on paper though and that coach usually starts screwing things up mid-seaon not early in the season. They scored in the 40s on A&M early last season and in early 2021 his Oregon team went to Ohio State and won that game.

Although it was one of only two P5 team they eclipsed 40.

Only LSU and Georgia put that much on us last year and Miami is not up to either of their offenses.
