That’s a great question TIGERSPIKE. If a meal totaling +/- $200 lead to benching a player for 1 game, then what the hell had to have been received by Wiley & Purifoy to land them on the bench for an entire season?

Nobody knows what Wiley and Purifoy took, but Chuck got around $6k and $8k...there is speculation he pocketed some of it.
The families members likely received as little as $1k and as much as $8k. Wiley paid it back...which is why his eligibility is restored effective 2019. Not sure what will happen to Purifoy. I also believe there is evidence Purifoy knew about the payment, but I am not certain of that assumption.

Probably will be declared ineligible the night before the AU game and reinstated 15 minuets later.

According to SC this morning, Knox, Sexton, Carter, Jr. and Bridges all currently set to play today.
It's presumed Ayton and Miller are done.

"But as we've seen, even "Family" can go astray and grab at the first sign of a payout >>>> Chuck & Vicki didn't have a problem taking their share."
Neither did Cecil.

Sexton already sat for a few games, did he not? I assume it was due to this issue. I would think Bama is in the clear. Anyone else feel differently? I admit I'm not all that familiar with all the details.
I find it interesting that Sexton sat in the early season yet Kentucky played Knox without any hesitation. Could end up costing Kentucky.
This is supposed to be a new revelation, so when Sexton sat, it was due to a similar but separate issue. I think at least. STill a little unclear at this point.

Yeah this popped up a bit ago on the Kentucky Basketball Facebook page:
quote:
In reference to the Yahoo! Sports men's basketball article, the University of Kentucky immediately reviewed the matter and, based on the available information, determined that there were no eligibility issues or rules violations for any current student-athletes or staff related to Friday’s report. Kentucky will continue to work diligently with both the NCAA and the Southeastern Conference.

Assuming nothing new is known in all these cases Duke, Michigan State, and Alabama should release the same statement UK just did.
Arizona is officially fricked though. Kinda sucks their wiretapping solicitation of money for Ayton didn't come out before our game with them back in December. He ate us alive in the second half of that close game. We'd already be an NCAA tourney lock with that extra high quality win and could sit Sexton the rest of the regular season as a precaution.
