OT I know, but what did you think of the Saints draft? Would have liked a better edge guy, but over all I think that they upgraded fairly well.

Eddie Lacy played in 5 games last year. His YPC isn't very compelling with that small a sample size. He had a good first two years, but he is and has been on a downward trend.

He's averaged 4.1, 4.6, 4.1, and 5.1 YPC in his 4 seasons in the NFL. He's been alright.

quote:

Good for Ingram, it only took him his 6th year in the league to break 1000 yards in a season

More on Saints and play calling than on him. His 1st 2 years were not good (3.9/carry), but since then he's gone 4.9, 4.3, 4.6, 5.1 YPC. He almost got to 1,000 (964) 2 years before in 13 games. Last year he played 16 games and got to 1,000 yards with only 12.8 carries per game.

And I like how you worded it that he may be the all-time rushing leader in a couple years. Why not just post his career total in rushing yards? because it sounds worse to say he has 4200 yards in 6 seasons?

Well, the point was that as "bad" as he's been in the eyes of some (almost exclusively LSU fans who are also Saints fans and can't get over where he played college ball), he is still one of the best your horrid franchise has ever had. Sean Payton has given him an average of 12 carries per game over his career. Saints haven't been committed to the run while he's been there and it shows.

Of all the fan bases to troll, why do LSU fans pick Bama? As usual it's football related trolling too which makes it even more puzzling considering LSU is Alabama's bitch in football. There's not much shite you can talk about Bama so you guys choose the most obscure things.
It reminds me of the moth and the flame adage...they just can't help it. Masochism's gotta play a part in it somewhere.

I don't know if Henry regrets going to bama, winning championships and Heisman, but I do know Jacksonville is going to regret using a top 5 pick drafting a RB who can only produce against bad defenses and gets hurt all the time.

Not TideSaint but as fellow Saints fan I think the draft went good (B+). However I would've preferred Derek Rivers or Terall Basham over Anal Zone because of his extensive injury history. I like the Kamara pick and we managed to land the no.1 CB and no.1 OT in the first round. We did get two pass rushers with the last two picks so it's good in the end.

isn't that why he sucked arse and lost his job last year, or did he just quit on his team to protect his draft position?

he sucked last year? (6.5 YPC and 120 YPG sucks I guess ) he lost his job? I thought his backup played when he was hurt

I know he had one injury but I'm just looking for a list of all the others since he's "hurt all the time"

Again, I thank you in advance for clearing up all of this for me. But if what you're saying is true, holy shite has an injury prone running back who sucked and lost his starting job in college ever been drafted in the top 5 of the NFL draft? I mean, damn, what a swing and a miss by all the NFL scouts

I actually like it a lot. A little disappointed we took Ramczyck when we did, but you build a team from the inside out so I'll never complain when they take an OL early (unless they are just complete shite ).

I really, really like the Lattimore and Williams picks. I think fixing the back end will help the pass rush. If men aren't running free the QB can't throw the ball therefore giving the pass rushers more time to put pressure on them.

I would have liked to see them add a dynamic playmaker at WR or TE, but having Kamara on the field on 3rd down should help alleviate that.

The pick in and of itself is fine. But the Saints have a top 5 OL already. I'd have much rather went defense again. But Ram is a beast.

Absolutely. Like I said, I'll never complain about building up the OL, but our defense is so fricking bad it's hard to overlook not taking a defensive player in the 1st.

And Zach Strief isn't getting any younger so the pick makes sense.

LF will always be remembered as a failure in college football.

I'll remember him as a 2015 1st Team All-American and rushing champion (YPG) that finished his career with a higher YPC than every player ranked ahead of him in total yardage except for Bo Jackson. And history will show him as finishing his LSU career with more rushing yardage than any RB in Alabama history. Some failure.

This is equal to "asking for a friend".

The obsession with all things Bama is a real disorder with LSU folk.

Sad.

When did you switch your affiliation from alabama to the Saints?
And why?
