1980's REM is good stuff. They started tanking after the early 90's.

REM evolved for sure. They were part of the MTV revolution. That may be good or bad but they made great music all the way to the end.

Michael Stipe spent his teenage years in Collinsville, IL which is in the greater St. Louis metro area. His senior photo is pictured on the cover of Eponymous.

Oof, that one's gotta hurt for mutt fans. But then again, everybody hurts...Sometimes.

Your team finished with a losing record and fired their coach after calling the coach the best x's and o's coach, and a QB whisperer/savant. Yes. I would say everybody hurts sometimes.

I love REM, but better yet, how many of you remember the Glen Miller Orchestra? They had the #1 song in 1939. Do any aggy fans love Glen Miller?

I like to think of R.E.M. as an old band. A very retro alternative band back when alternative was pure.

The thing about being an alternative band is that it is a self defeating concept because once they became popular they were mainstream and no longer alternative.

U2 and REM were both considered alternative in the early to mid 80’s.

But they both became top 40 bands which made them mainstream.

REM is great. I was in middle school when Monster came out so thats my go to. I know the purists always go on about their 80s catalog, and yes, it kicks arse. But Monster gets shite on by big time REM fans and I don't get it. It's a fricking great album.
