No idea, but I know marijuana is legal in DC but tons of people aren't able to use it because they have federal (or hope to land) federal or contracting positions where that will not fly.

Yes they do. They test for how many nanograms of THC per ML of blood. That's how they do it for driving under the influence. The legal limit for driving is 5 nanograms per ML in states where weed is legal.
Regardless, as to the topic of this thread and jobs and/or school policy, nothing about it being legal or illegal matters. A business or school can still have policy that forbids smoking weed even if it's legal to smoke in the state the business or school is located. Think about it this way...there are products that are legal to purchase and/or medications that are legally prescribed to athletes that are still banned by the NCAA.

I do know that because I was an NCAA athlete. I couldn't take ANYTHING without getting it from Dr. Goodlett.

With the way these athletes know when there 1-2 NCAA piss test a year are coming it’s sad they can’t pass them.
They workout enough, drink enough water to get weed out of your system within a week or two max

They do random tests as well and you used to only get a day's notice. Best to get into that stuff when you are off-campus for breaks.
It's still asinine that they are testing for it at any level.

The school does random test if you have failed in the past for the most part.
The athletes know when they are being tested.
They aren’t really random at all

I think they are still random too. But the coach can also pull your number if they have reason to suspect something.
I was injured and just swimming for about 5 weeks and mostly out of touch with my coach when I got my first one. Got the 2nd one a few weeks later.

Yes, they know 24 hours before. They used to hang a list outside the locker rooms in the Colosseum. That was 25 years ago so not sure how that's changed. But they did have random testing.

See the whole problem is cannibus is not legal. It is still a cds1 and banned by federal government. State schools get federal money. The ncaa just enforces said schools policies. Until it become legal or at the minimum decriminalized and removed from cds1 status,it will always be against university policy for students and athletes.
And yes I am a daily cannibus user and advocate with a job and 2 degrees

I thought that was just on company property.
Nope. It's particularly common in the fire service.
Many states have adopted presumptive cause laws for firefighters and cancer. If a firefighter serves for so long and later develops one of several cancers, it's presumed to have been caused by on the job exposures and the employee is entitled to additional benefits.
Since many of those same cancers are also caused by tobacco use (smoking in particular), a condition of employment is to not use tobacco products either on or off duty. Depending on the jurisdiction's policies, in some cases a single violation can be cause for termination.

I work for the Feds in a state where it is legal for medicinal use. Even with a prescription, if you are tested and positive, you will likely lose your job. Does not require proof of being incapcitated, just residual positivity.

It would not effect him if she used it. He can be tested, but not her, so there is no way for them to proceed with that action without intervention. If she can use it for her benefit, he should let her. Fight that crap in court if need be.

When I played ball you knew when the first drug test was. Then if you failed you got random tested. There was also 2 players that got randomly tested mid year, but the coach picked them. So not exactly random.
I played a sport with 25 people on the team.

Yes, but it's less likely to happen.

Yes. The states can make up all the laws they want. However Cannabis is still a controlled substance under Federal law. Federal law trumps state law.

Even in states where pot is legal, it isn't legal on campus

Except at Oaksterdam University

Things are changing, Amazon doesn’t test for weed anymore to align with federal law and considers it the same as alcohol

Yeah that was a BIG move considering how many people they employ.

There are employers today that have a tobacco free policy that will fire you if you're caught smoking or dipping.
Like who?
If you're caught doing it OTJ I could understand but I find it impossible to believe if it's done outside the workplace.
