Also, you are free to look for another job, but not in company time and resources

I’d love to see where in Lane’s contract it specifies what “company time” is and what time is his personally. And what Ole Miss “resources” do you think he is misappropriating? You say it is “clear” so should be an easy answer.

zero class to do this while your team is looking to clinch a playoff berth this weekend.

After all, God would never interrupt the best season of Ole Miss's life!

Honestly Lous take makes sense when CFB isn't the multi billion dollar industry it is today. Money has changed the game and players deserve to have rights and privileges considering how much money people make off this sport. Not saying what we have is perfect.

True but it does neuter your ability to enforce it. The best they can do is make you non rehireable

Enforcement of a contract is civil. The remedy is a lawsuit.

Which is probably illegal and unenforceable.

You want to stop coaches and players from leaving whenever they feel like it?

Collective bargaining.
It happens all the time in the business world. It's not illegal, and doesn't involve collective bargaining. It's an agreement between the coach and his prior employer. If he breaks it, he'll owe damages.

A lawsuit the school would lose. After the coach is no longer an employee in a right to work state you lose.

"Right to work" means you can't be forced to join a union. It doesn't mean that a non-compete clause is unenforceable. Only a few states, very few, have strict limitations on non-competes.
