Any other year - maybe. This year's team seems to be destined to take home the crystal - regardless of what ESPN thinks or does to enhance their coffers.

Yes, LSU has been disrespected, just look at all the preseason picks for the all SEC 1st Team. LSU has earned a lot of respect with their schedule and solid wins. Many are still disrespecting LSU with their comments that Bama has the better team and really did not lose the game against LSU. If LSU can pull off another Top 6 win in the NC game it will be interesting to see what the doubters say this time.

I've seen some of it, but it doesn't bother me. To me, it's just the usual effort to create more pre-game hype.
I think both TEAMS have respect for one another- and that's what really matters.
Both will be focused on game day, and it should be a classic.

Actually LSU has been pretty well respected outside of ESPN. For some reason, ESPN continues to disrespect LSU, which is fine, LSU just proves them wrong each and every time (Which is probably why ESPN hates LSU.. 
)

If we lose the NC game I don't see a melt down, just a disappointment and realization of what a great year we had. Next year this young team will be even better. If we can win the NC we will be setting up a possible repeat for next year.
