They've coached him to form tackle, which is what he's doing.
Somewhere in football 101, I missed that form tackling:
- was lowering your helmet into a stationary and defenseless QB
- body slamming a QB after the whistle
- leveling a QB on a play that had been blown dead and no one else was moving.
Got it.

To be fair, UGA had a lot of fun with Brodie in 2003. Karma's a bitch
In 2003, we put Brodie and Pennington out of the game, but they were on LEGAL, textbook hits that were 100% within the rules of the game. There was no foul play or leading with the helmet or late hits or anything like that.

He's not going to change anything. That's what I've been saying. Heck, reading this thread, you'd think he's the dirtiest player to ever play the game. He's dirty, but not the dirtiest. He's not even the dirtiest to play at Auburn.
I'm just curious on this, do you think it's dirty if it's not illegal? Like I said, it's debatable if it's necessary, but as of now, it's a legal play.
I think you'll get arguments both ways. Some will say it's too much and driving the QB into the ground isn't right. Some will say that's how a tackle should be made and that's how you're taught to finish a tackle.

Hopefully this will drive his draft stock down so much the Saints can pick him with the 32nd pick in next year's NFL draft.

1) A good, hard driving, clean tackle is one where you wrap up the ball carrier/QB, keep your legs driving and finish it off....presumably with the player being tackled going backwards.
2) What Fairley is doing is different. He's wrapping up the QB, then ELEVATING him and DRIVING him into the ground.
1) is legal and considered clean "form tackling".
2) is currently legal but certainly NOT considered clean.

Good example of it mattering whose ox is getting gored. The play that put Brodie out was a safety blitz piledriver two steps after the ball was gone. If you're bitching about Fairley, you'd be bitching about that hit also.

A bit of that yes. I think Most Auburn fans admit Fairley's hit in the knee was bad though we don't believe it was intential, in that he wanted to injure him. The hit in the back they penalized him, at that time Rocker should have had a discussion with him.
The Refs let that game get way out of hand, and both coaches as well. Richt wants his team to play on the ragged edge, and Chizik to an extent as well, but this is what you get when the Refs and coaches don't get it under control.

Look, Auburn plays dirty and always has. The Georgia players should have been better prepared. The dirty play by Fairley and others really pissed off the Georgia players and coaches, including Richt. That's why we all saw the running play at the end, directed right at Fairley with the entire Georgia team taking shots at him.
Cheap shots beget acknowledging cheap shots. - That's what happened.

If the legue wants to cut down on hits like that, have the officials be more vigilant and throw the flag. It is hard to tell a kid he did something wrong if the zebras don't flag him for it.
He got flagged for the spear in the back and other players have been suspended by the NCAA for the same.

To be fair to Taylor, it looked like he was trying to get Fairly back to the sideline, and Fairly stupidly thought he was giving him a high five.
They didn't catch it on TV but after Trooper caught up with him he started shoving him towards the sideline. Troop did not look pleased.

Like the intentional Chop Block long before Fairley even touched the precious QB??

I've yet to see anyone other than an AU poster mention anything about UGA playing rough and dirty and in some cases instigating the incidents.
Just STFU!!! Has auburn ever done anything wrong that they weren't justified in doing because of the way someone else acted? Fairley has played dirty all season and everyone outside of Lee county and the SEC office knows it. While what he does in most cases is not a penalty it completely flies in the face of sportsmanship. I have no problem with players playing hard and hitting QBs, but when on play after play you hit the QB and then pick them up and with all your force drive their shoulder into the ground while landing on them with all your weight the only thing you are trying to accomplish is to hurt the QB. Even Danielson has mentioned it at least twice this year and I have seen it at least 6 or 7 times. It's amazing me that great players like Suh and Glenn Dorsey could play and terrorize QBs and when they hit them avoid power driving them into the ground with the intent to injury, but au has two great players and both IMO are scum of the earth.
