I am not apoplectic about Farley, but THIS is ridiculous.

ONE late hit in 11 games? Really?

The dude IS dirty. Plain and simple. I do not wish a 'knee destruction' on him. But, there really should be some punishment in-game and from the SEC office.

Must be difficult to do that IF YOU DO NOT PRACTICE IT!

Georgia can hire former Auburn player Chaz Ramsey as a GA. Glen Dorsey says he's an excellent chop blocker.

I can only think of that one PF flag in 11 games on Fairley. If he has had some more, then I haven't seen them.

Late hits on the QB are PF's. Y'all realize the ref is standing right beside the QB on every play right? If it's a late hit, then they would throw a flag right?

Speeders get tickets, holding is a penalty, etc.

Besides, my response was not limited to "late hits"....You seemed to imply that the ONE "late hit" was the only negative thing he has done. Spearing the qb was atrocious. Going for his knees / shins (save the 'he was blocked into him' crap) with his head was despicable. Etc.

I've been disappointed all year. But he's really no dirtier than the typical Auburn lineman. He's just better than most. Auburn is, and has always been famous for dirty plays/cheap shots by linemen on both offense and defense. - For YEARS.

Nothing new here, and no ones going to do anything about it. The best thing to do is just get accustomed to seeing them try to take out your best player. Like it or not; that's Auburn Football.

Absolutely. Terrible and stupid play.

You're right. He was trying to spear Murray in the knee. It was so obvious that was what happened. Which is why the ref, who again is standing right fricking there, threw a flag for a PF......

Someone needs to put together a Nick Fairley highlight reel of his dirty plays and antics.

I still can't believe it's not illegal to pick up and pile drive any player into the ground. It's not about making a play at that point; it's about trying to injure someone. I hope the NCAA adapts the rule from the NFL to prevent this next year.

IMO, the real shame is he much too good of a D-lineman to resort to stuff like that.

Wrong. The first time I've seen him put his helmet into a QB was against uga. The PF against Murray was illegal and it should have been flagged. It was totally uncalled for.

Other than that, he wraps up and drives through with his shoulder all the way to the ground. You know what that is? It's a form tackle. Is it too much to drive the QB into the ground? That's debatable, but since no ref has thrown a flag on it, he'll continue to do it.

I do think Chizik and Rocker will probably talk to him and tell him to take it down a notch on those plays where he does get to the QB just to squash all the talk about him being dirty, etc.

Seriously? If you can't see where Fairley was blocked into Murray on that last hit, then there's not a lot I can do for you. Also, if it truly was a spear and the ref felt like there was intent, he'd have thrown the flag. No flag, no problem? Only when the ref isn't standing RIGHT frickING THERE WATCHING THE WHOLE PLAY. We aren't talking about a Spike's eye gouge where the refs didn't see.

Oh..... How many PF's does the DIRTIEST PLAYER in the SEC have? Two.

There's a fine line between trying to injure and trying to "punish," which is what you want your DT to do. You want that QB to panic when he sees #90 break through that line and remember the last time he got him, he ended up getting driven into the ground. You want those hits to take their toll over the course of a game. That's just football.

Now, if they say it's illegal and he continues to do it, I'll be the first to say he needs to quit it.

That is quite possibly the stupidest statement I've read. Who do you think has been coaching him all season? They're not going to tell him to stop doing something that has thusfar been so successful.

They've coached him to play like that.

He has executed well all year.

It's dirty and cheap.

Auburn wins football games.

You think Chiz is gonna suddenly change?...

They've coached him to form tackle, which is what he's doing. If you want to say it's dirty, so be it, but I think you'll get alot of arguments from anyone who's a football purist. If the SEC or whoever tells them he's going to start getting flagged for it, yes, I firmly believe they're going to tell him to notch it down.

Listen, I'm not happy at all about the hit in the back or him acting like an arse after the scuffle, but it doesn't change the fact that the way he tackles QB's isn't illegal and until it is, why would he change what he's doing?

He's not going to change anything. That's what I've been saying. Heck, reading this thread, you'd think he's the dirtiest player to ever play the game. He's dirty, but not the dirtiest. He's not even the dirtiest to play at Auburn.
