There really is no metric you can use to claim UT as an “everything school”.

Sure there is.. the real UT = Texas
and they are indeed an "everything school"

If we had the same number of non-revenue Olympic sports as Stanford we would take the top spot every year.

We have beach volleyball now, time for women's gymnastics in Austin.

As much as I enjoy any arbitrary ranking system, it's hard not to really look at these and note things like Alabama getting 83 points for a Final Four in men's basketball, and Notre Dame getting 90 points for fencing — I mean damn.

Yeah, that is not a good thing. I think the Capital one cup tried to give more points to the more important sports, but they missed the mark when they included Soccer, Lax and beach volleyball with the higher point sports like football and basketball. These clearly favor conferences not name SEC.

Also it may be hard to win one of these when you field so many fewer sports, I think you can still be competitive in all-around athletics and do well here regardless.

No you wouldn't, you have the same number of scoring sports as UF does.

If Texas fields a women's gymnastics team, God help the rest of us.

VOLS are the most well rounded program in the conference - nice to see empirical data to support that
