I have used a hotspot with the ESPN app but you have to have a really good service or it freezes, buffers and pixelates.
I used to have DISH and considered one of these. It had really good reviews.

Firestick they download to sticks legit tv no bootlegging. $132 a year $10 a Firestick up to 6 tvs also on phone and laptop

Despite the price, the DISH Tailgater is badass in that it automatically locates the signal (similar to a motorized telescope mount).
AFAIK, DirecTV does not have an equivalent to that, and still uses the traditional dish/tripod setup. Which sort of sucks for tailgating, where portability and sturdiness is paramount.

I have YouTube TV and I get internet from T-Mobile. I take that to tailgates and get good reception.
