Wow! I didn't know that LSU had 8 losing seasons from 1989-1999. No wonder they try to claim football only started in 2000.

I agree. If a controlling body can't award a championship trophy to its highest class of football, then it can't legitimately remove the result of a game on the field through forfeit or vacation of the win. The entire idea is ridiculous. They can affect future outcomes through schollie reductions, suspensions, etc. But the past is the past and those results occurred.
For the periods referenced, giving textbooks to friends or reselling/returning them for monies had no affect on the onfield play. Just dumb.
Now, if the awarding bodies opt to remove awards or trophies for individual or team recognition, that is within their purview and should be brought into account.

I knew LSU fans were crazed about their self-imposed "rivalry" with 'Bama, but I never witnessed the outright obsession first-hand until recently joining this forum. It's terrifying.

Your statement was clear. Being relegated to this board doesn't make it any less silly than the real life claims of said "rivalry" given LSU's record against 'Bama.
