From a Warren Nolan predicted 0-30 SEC record preseason

Is that real?

Not sure how anybody can claim to know shite about baseball and with a straight face predict any team to go 0-30 in their own conference... I wouldn't feel completely sure about predicting a large school college team to go 0-30 in a 30 game series vs the NY Yankees.

Baseball is an any given day sport. That's why you play series instead of individual games and the seasons are so long. A team of all-stars having an off day can easily lose to a team of nobody scrubs who got hot.

It was Boyd’s World and it’s a computer algorithm. That was taken after State started the season 0-3. As some are too ignorant to understand and as was discussed early this season, looking at such a metric after a 3 game sample size is never going to be reliable. Boyd’s world is more useful late in the season once many games have been played because it projects what a team needs to do to reach certain RPI thresholds.

warren nolans W/L predictions are based solely off RPI.

It was Warren Nolan, and it was going into SEC play. He doesn't take into account a three game series. However,he predicts games and pretty much said the 10 SEC opponents were better than us, and ihe predicted a series based on aone game played and used it for all three in the series which equals 0- 30. I remember Vandy was predicted to beat us like 4-2, so all 3 games of the series he had Vandy winning 4-2 in his projections, and he did this for all other teams we played which equaled 0-30. It was really 0-10 if you understand what he did.

Didn't return a single starting pitcher, faced a ton of random injuries throughout the season, still made a regional final. Also still very much in the minds of a certain team in Omaha.

Yep, met expectations.

I said AU would finish ranked and 3rd in the West at worst, of course it was down-voted into oblivion, so yes, AU met my expectations despite the experts here.

Everyone downvoted you because your were flapping your gums about how absurd Auburn being picked 5th was and how it could never happen. 3 teams finished 15-15 including Auburn to occupy the 3-4-5 spots. Had Auburn lost the last game of the year, they were 5th. Auburn was not nearly as good as you touted them up to be. They just benefited from playing both the teams they tied with at home.

Nolan’s algorhytn didn’t factor in how baseball works with the series. So home game vs. x team is a loss, all three games were predicted losses. There were no series splits for anyone.

He needs to change how it displays, what it should have stated was that we would lose all 10 of our SEC series. Some would have been sweeps but others could have been 1-2.

But going into the SEC season, I thought if we could get 10 wins in conference it would be a miracle. We got 15, made a regional, then got hot.

If we go 0-2 this week, the season will be a massive success considering what State has to go through.

I did not expect us to win the SEC Tournament.

I did expect us to blow it in the regional. We wouldn't be Ole Miss if we didn't fill up a diaper when the moment was right. Turns out in our regional we filled up two.

Preseason top 15-20 team with a ton of freshmen. I'd say making a Super Regional (which has become the norm) and being one win away from Omaha met expectations.

However, the inconsistent regular season performance with a bunch of midweek losses and lack of production from key veterans was not expected.

They are still a game up in the east. So yes, they have exceeded expectations by a grand measure.

Go Braves!!!! The other script A Team.

Obviously lsu didn't win their regional but they did win their own version of the cws by beating arkansas so their season was a success.

Why do you do this and embarrass yourself and your fan base? Our expectations are to win the Sec and make it to Omaha every year! We replaced our entire starting pitching so even the most delusional LSU fan had to have tempered expectations. Arkansas is just a team that we have great success against. I respect your team and program, and we all know that it will be a tough series every year.
As far as Arkansas , I would think that your expectations should have been and still be to win it all. Your team was loaded and garnered that respect by all the experts to start the year. You have played up to it, so quit whining like a sissy and trolling LSU instead of getting behind your team and focused on winning the whole damn thing!
