check out this poster's message on Orangebloods below. Says that the word about this is what's being said inside Texas' athletic building.

Probably an Aggie but losing to Arkansas was the best thing to happen to Texas.

I hate to agree with you, but it was. Let us say, hypothetically speaking, that Texas being part of the SEC started this season. It would have been a blood bath.
Getting beaten, and it was a beating, by Arkansas like that made it clear to the team and the fans that you have to step it up. As I said earlier today... if Texas gets past Oklahoma they might run the table in the Big 12. If Texas was playing in the SEC West they might be the 6th or 7th best team.
What I suspect will happen is that Texas will beef up their lines and start to realize they are playing big boy football now. Which, to be honest, would be the best thing to happen to Texas. Get that edge back. Give them a reason to be the Longhorns of old rather than the team willing to coast on their reputation.
That or they start to, once again, tout their superstar signings, and go into a season expecting to win just based on their name. If you do that in the SEC its going to get really ugly, really fast.
