i think most LSU fans outside of those in north La and Arkansas could care less about Arkansas; not that we have any business losing to them

Ok... you must have never watched an LSU/Arkansas game and considering it's the last regular season game, you are no fan.

Regardless of his knowledge the boot is such a weak attenpt by the SEC to get us a rivalry. We are supposed to get excited about playing ARK and they playing LSU for some boot that the SEC told us was meaninful. If this started before the SEC split into divisiosn I might buy into it a little bit more.

Just to clarify, as if it matters either way, the SEC had nothing to do with the boot.
In 1995 Frank Broyles and David Bazzel (a Razorback from the 1980's that has never held a real job, milks his local celebrity status for random work, and can't seem to give up his college years) decided to create a trophy that would encourage a rivalry.
It's stupid. Period. End of story.

Really? For some reason I always thought the SEC had some hand in it to help to try and go in line with LSU or ARK not having an in state rival - or true SEC rival. Glad to know how it was started.

i wish we would fricking send the boot to cash for gold this year. its a gay fricking trophy and a fake rivalry with them.

well, considering AR has held the trophy 4 times to LSU's 6 times over the past ten meetings; it appears to spend a fair amount of days/nights in the AR trophy case. If you want to see it currently, mapquest Fayetteville.

I think Ole Miss is a true SEC rival for both teams historically. Ole Miss and Arkansas were rivals before Arkansas even joined the SEC.
