I just don't buy that part. Bama is very adept at this sort of thing. Maybe she was verbally told something to that effect, but the reality of the situation is probably a lot different. Maybe a vague offer somewhere along those lines, but a job in saban's office ain't happening.

Sure, she probably would not have gotten a scholly if she was not Collin's gf (IMO as I do not know anything about her schooly), and maybe she was told she would be taken care of (wink wink), but a job in saban's office is just silly and not happening.

Probably better to learn about her scholarship before trying to figure out what the motivations are. Otherwise it just looks like you are trying to blame Alabama blindly.

My mother's favorite saying is that people who use the word classy have no class.

If his girlfriend was offered a job in Saban's office I don't see how he couldn't be directly involved.

i read the article. i still think his mom will go to any length to get what she wants. and the writer is another woman lending her support. the writer proly couldnt care less about the schools involved. she just sees another woman on a one woman crusade and is jumping on the bandwagon.

Seriously Funky, you think she is butthurt (stupid term BTW) because she is some sort of LSU fan?

No, I think that she is butthurt because she is acting like her son's decision is going to be detrimental to his future plans, and that seems pretty selfish to me. Her son wants to go play at a great football school, yet because the mom does not like it, it "does not fit into their long-term plans."

I think she believes he is better off at LSU and wants him there.

Okay, fine, so she should give some legit reasons as to why she does not want him at Alabama besides being upset because she has to travel to watch him play, and a bogus attempt at claiming that we are going to red shirt her son. He has just as good of a chance to get playing time here as LSU. He is not going to start over Eric Reid or Craig Loston. We just lost our All-American safety. Do you really think that we told him that we are going to red shirt him? It all just wreaks of asshurt.

Bama football just might have sealed its fate as a disemboweled program because of this. See you all on the football field in a few years. Good Luck

My guess is there is some self interest on her part. I would guess she wants the best for her son, but probably would like to see him make it to the NFL for some personal financial reasons as well.

I just do not see it as asshurt. From her comments, I belive she is concerned about the way saban has treated some players the past few years. I am seriously not flaming here either. It is a fact about 1/3rd of every player saban signs gets processed now. It is just a reality based on signees. Of course LSU does not have a lot better track record. IMO however, I believe she believes her son will be better off at LSU. I have no opinion on that, but it seems it is what she believes and she does probably have a vested self interest on whether he makes it in the pros.

I am not. I remember a player's GF getting a scholly at bama a few years ago that many thought was not warranted. And bama does have a track record of winning at all costs and recruiting that way as well. I believe it is more likely than not that she would NOT have a scholly if her BF was not a major recruit. That is just common sense on the surface and I even said, it is just my opinion.

If you had to bet your life on it however, I doubt you would bet she would have gotten a scholly if she was not LC's gf.

I thought all she cared about was his academic career.

quote:

What were, then, her goals? "For Landon to win the Heisman Trophy and to be able to play close to home at LSU with his younger brother, Gerald, who is also an outstanding football player who has offers to play at LSU." She said these weren't just her goals; they were shared by his younger siblings.

if i'm remembering correctly? landon said himself, that he made the decision to leave louisiana 2 years ago, right? if this is true, then why is his mom so disrespectful of his decision? was he and his brother supposed to be a package deal for lsu? but landon opted out? and now moms cant stand the thoughts of not being in control? is she like this about everything? it looks to me like the one driving the wedge into the family, is moms.
