1st drive (24-20)
1st and 10, sack loss of 2
2nd and 12, 7 yard run
3rd and 5, incomplete

Should have run on first down. Now they were behind the chains.

quote:

2nd drive (24-20)
1st and 10, 4 yard run
2nd and 6, 5 yard run
3rd and 1, 3 yard run
1st and 10, 14 yard pass
1st and 10, 4 yard run
2nd and 6, 2 yard run
3rd and 4, 2 yard pass
Punt

Seems like a good mix here and just did not convert on 3rd down.

quote:

3rd drive (24-27)
1st and 10, 36 yard pass
1st and 10, 10 yard run
1st and 10, incomplete pass
2nd and 10, incomplete pass
3rd and 10, interception

Bad things happen when defenses know UGA is going to pass.

quote:

4th drive (24-34)
1st and 10, delay of game
1st and 15, incomplete pass
2nd and 15, 9 yard run
3rd and 6, interception

Again, bad things happen when UGA pass the ball.

Overall UGA was pretty productive running.

UGA may have the most talented O-Line in the nation.
Hyperbole much, damn.

What happened to everyone saying we lost 4 starters?

UGA hasn’t been an extremely good run blocking team in a while.

Your post proves that he went too pass heavy.

Lol

UGA ran on 1st and 2nd down 13 times to 6 passes in the third quarter.

We are not built to run the football on 3rd down. The only 3rd down converted against Bama on the ground was 3rd and 1 all game.

We didnt abandon the run. We just didnt have the football to run any more (bama controlled the clock in the 4th quarter. Tough to do anything on the sidelines).

You can complain about the playcalls prior to the malachi moore int. But is insane to think that UGA was going to run the football every down and move the chains on Bama. The prior series, we got 4 on first down and 2 on second down on the ground and ended up punting. We have to mix up the playcalling at some point.

They are popping 4-6 yards a run. Thanks to Kirby they decide to play to LSU's strength (DBs) with their weakness (WRs).

They weren’t in the second half. They also could NOT stop UA offense.

He didn't initially; he followed the same strat that worked at the end of the first half - run to setup the pass.

Problem was that in the second half it stopped working; and because of how efficient Alabama's offense was they were down by 10 within 3 drives.

If you look at most of their drives, he had a lot of first down passes. The difference in the second half that more often than not these went from short gains to incompletions or sacks, putting them back. Then even big runs left them on third down.

Second half drives:
Ahead by 3:
1st - 3 runs, 2 passes - punt (19 yards on rushing plays)
* 2 yard sack on first down pass play
Ahead by 3:
2nd - 5 rushes, 2 passes - punt (18 yards on rushing plays)
* 14 yard first down pass
Down by 4:
3rd - 1 rush, 4 passes - Int (10 yards on rushing play)
* Big first down pass for 36 yards
Down by 10:
4th - 1 rush, 2 passes - Int (9 yards on rushing play)
* Delay of game on first down
Down by 17:
5th - 2 rushes, 6 passes - Missed FG (0 yards on rushing plays)
* 18 yard pass on first down, plus 2 incompletions and a -4 yard run

He started off running as often as they did in the first, but it was reduced when the scoring swung in favor of Alabama.
