How long did we trail in 2012? Meaningless point is meaningless.

The best item on Alabama’s resume is a decisive loss to the #2 team in the country at home with their All American QB who is now injured and out for the season.

Is that enough to make it to the top 4?

Some may not have seen it so much as decisive vs a tale of two halves. Others will recall that the QB was injured then, fresh off of surgery, and three weeks out of full practice. Even as his limp grew, his effectiveness did, too. Bama D made some good adjustments to slow the bleeding and it was a one score game.

But, that is all perspective. And, subject to biased interpretation from both points of view.

All that said. Bama's SoS won't be a discussion. It has already been decided that their SoS and SoR are not factors. If accounting for game control and how they handled the soft schedule, Bama should be ahead of UGA right now. UGA lost at home to a USCe team Bama beat handily on the road. Bama handled aTm easily on the road and UGA struggled to a win at home. They had equal outcomes vs. Tn, except Bama played a half without its MVP QB. If Bama decisively beats Auburn (another UGA struggle win) and don't jump UGA, it will be clear what we all already know.

Bama needs Pac and Big 12 champs to be 2 loss champs and LSU to win the SEC to be in the playoffs. Nothing short of that will help them get in.

You trailed for 55 of 60 minutes.

35 minutes by double digits.

And LSU scored more points in your stadium than any opponent since 1907.

Alabama was fortunate with Stingley's 2 busted coverages and the punt return, yet I haven't read many if any LSU fans admitting that Alabama gifted LSU 2 unforced turnovers and the muffed punt. Alabama's self-inflicted mistakes and poor offensive game plan in the first half are the main reason they trailed bigly at the half.

LSU played better, and I would assess their coaching and performance as a B game. Alabama's coaching and execution was a D at best when considering the 3 free touchdowns LSU yielded.

LSU was better that game but not far and away better. Now with Alabama's additional injuries, LSU is considerably better.

Regarding the point record, that's not impressive. Auburn scored 44 in 2014. Plus Alabama's defense was known to be as bad if not worse than last season's. The offense didn't help the defense in the first half either.
