Saying everyone else does it is a lame arse cop out. I don't care how many people get away with murder every year, I hope the ones they do solve and find are prosecuted fully.
So if everyone is doing it, then I hope everyone gets caught. Personally, I think it's mostly bullshite that everyone does it. Do $100 handshake type things happen everywhere? Yes I'm betting it does. But straight up bidding on players? I doubt it.
If everyone is doing it and Alabama is so good at buying players, how did they get outbid by Ole Miss?

Ole miss fan popping in. We got hit with our first NOA like 3/4 years AFTER the violation was committed. Most don’t know but the first NOA mostly dealt with academic fraud under Houston Nutt.
The NCAA camped out for several years to gather everything that alleged in the 2nd NOA. (Leo Lewis)
It’s 2020 and we are still feeling repercussions from shite that happened in 2011.
If the NCAA gives LSU an NOA for Wade’s cheating, I wouldn’t be surprised if they go after LSU for that stealing money from a hospital to pay players scandal.
Everything that LSU has done is on par or worse than what Ole Miss was accused of.
The smoking gun was a rival player snitching. The NCAA has your fricking head coach recorded talking about paying players. You’re fricked.

Again, if you get a notice of allegations, it will contain the violations you are being hit with.
Unless LSU was to up and admit the violations, in which case there would be no notice.

The problem with that line of thought is that Ole Miss is a piss ant athletic program. No one notices Ole Miss unless they’re getting hammered by the NCAA. LSU is a premier athletic department in the nation and our AD grills with the president of the NCAA and is related to him by marriage

The only thing I'm not sure about is the relationship between Woody and Emmert. They may agree to keep it separate. Emmert may want to show he's still got the pull or he may wanna be lenient. It's tough to know exactly what's going on there.

Alabama got bent over with the Albert Means stuff. Then got bent over again because of some books. Lots of scholarships lost, bowl bans, vacated wins.
Ohio St got banned for a post season because their coach lied about players getting benefits for tattoos.
Penn St got bent over for shite that doesn't even apply to the jurisdiction of the NCAA really, even though it's hard to feel sorry for them considering. Seems a lot of that was taken away recently.
USC got bent over because a player was taking agent money/benefits and the coaches didn't do enough in the opinion of the NCAA to prevent it.
Oregon/Chip Kelly ended up getting a show clause that sent him running to the NFL because of buying a recruiting tape, aka influence on a recruit. Oregon got away with it mostly as Chip Kelly took all the blame.
They do not skate by on the reg.
And the related by married stuff is laughable. That the president of the NCAA even has that power to start with, much less risk his entire career over someone who came into his family by marriage is just way out there.
