Gotta make the other team punt first, Mizzou

I remember Demps and Rainey (I think?) were hell on wheels on Floridas punt team for a few years.

Mizzou is going to surprise a lot of people this year with an O line, running back, and quarterback all healthy.

I'm worried that we're going to absolutely waste DGB. He'll have one good full year and then bolt to the NFL.
frick. We'll never have a number 1 recruit again, so let's just let the one we do have waste away.
I can't stand Pinkel. I can't wait until he's gone.

You can't stand the best coach in Missouri history?

Imagine the nightmares he'll give the punt protection team. Imagine the disruption he could cause in that role — not to mention, his ability to command attention on one corner and free up another rusher on the other side. And don’t forget, you have an All-American return specialist in Marcus Murphy hoping to feast on the punt team’s focus on blocking the front wall.
This is a joke, right?

I distinctly remember him on the punt coverage team last year in Columbia, SC... didn't work out so well...

That was from Dave Matter's column in the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Dave has covered Mizzou for years.
I'm concerned about this move, if Pinkel puts him in this position and he breaks a hand, that could be the final nail in the coffin. I was just offering one guys take on how it could work.

PInkel is a victim of his own success at Mizzou. He built the program, and everyone is grateful for that. but in building the program, he also built the expectation of winning 8-11 games a year. There was a lot of frustration last season, and if he doesn't get back to meeting that expectation, I think you'll see him "retire".

After thinking about this a little more, I'm actually OK with him in this role. Why not use his size and speed? He's going to be one of the best playmakers on the team, so why not put him in position to make a game-changing play?
After all, Julio Jones was the lead blocker on the kick-return team, and the sky blocker on the field goal team at Alabama. As well as their best receiver. And DGB is very similar to him physically.

They're also thinking about putting him at kick returner behind Murphy.
He's no bust, expecting a big year out of him this year. He's looking great, has made big strides in a lot of areas since last year, and he was pretty darn good last year--led the team in TDs with horrible QB play.
