Now I do want to clarify something. Chase actually did very little stat padding against OOC regular season opponents, and didn’t play at all against Northwestern State, our easiest opponent of the year.
In fact if we take his 9 games against SEC opponents, take the average of TD’s and extrapolate the data, Chase would have had 19.5 TD’s in an 11 game SEC only schedule, which is truly incredible because Jets also had 18 TDs

I don't know what the coaches are thinking, I just said what the sportwriters think the coaches are thinking. But yeah, I will.

Not that Smith has ever had durability issues, but they’re comparing size and some may consider Smith a risk. Which is strange because there was another under sized receiver I believe will make the HOF with the name of Smith.

This isn't true - He was my #1 I wanted back, there are a lot of us who were in love with DeVonta last year.
In 2019, Smith demonstrated that he was an elite option but in 2018 he was dinged up most of the season and Waddle was the “new shiny” prospect.

So I knew eventually you were coming back to this. To be fair I didn't mention Chase nor I am putting him down or comparing the two in my OP. Simply highlighting that Smitty has done it against all P5s.

Yea, the other weird thing is most dolphins fans I’ve seen want them to take another QB,
On their fan chats this gets brought up but is quickly rebuked by other fans. Most seem to want to give Tua another year before taking this route.
I found the irony in everyone praising Josh Allen over the past week coupled with many also saying it was time to move on from Tua after year 1 to be pretty funny given just how terrible Josh Allen was in his rookie season.

Statically Yes...most likely an Heisman trophy also today.

exactly what most of them are saying
After all his receivers went down he lost his best starting tight end. There was a reason he was checking down. He was throwing to a 5'6" punt returner in crunch time of some of those games.

He should win the Heisman.

Davonte Parker and Gesiki also had two of the worst yards of separation when targeted. Less than 2 yards... that’s terrible. Miami got rid of the OC, and will likely draft Sewell. They also have 2 second round picks and could trade up to grab a receiver in the first to give them 3 first round picks. Will be an entirely new offense for Miami next season. The good news for Tua is that the HC seems to like him.

Sorry I derailed your thread with draft talk. Getting back on point.

DeVonta need just 1 receiving TD to become the SEC season holder for that category. He needs 140 yards to become the break SEC receiving yards record.

Should be the heisman winner, no doubt

You're fine actually like discussions in that nature. Sometimes I wish it could be NFL/College coaches corner sub forum on here...with little trolling (well not lately) similar to SEC Recruiting board.

i find it puzzling how some of these mock drafts have him as the 4th reciever off the board. Crazy
Height.
He's 5' 11". So many draft positions get determined by those measurable qualities, so people will look at two WRs and take the one that's not quite as good because he's 3-4 inches taller and no other reason.

I don't think you will find too many rational LSU fans with any disdain towards Smith.
Kid was always upfront about his recruiting and leaving the state, seems like he has great character, and is a phenomenal athlete. As a fan, sucks to see a Louisiana guy excel like this at Bama. As a person, happy for him for the amazing season and college career he has put together - he's a blast to watch.
