Not at all, actually.

So an event that almost nobody, but relatives of the competitors, watches. . .

. . .matters as much as an event that millions of people watch in primetime?

I may be misreading this (it happens), but I am getting the distinct impression that Arkansas and LSU fans do not like each other? Am I reading this right?

Seriously, we are not to the level of a rivalry (a feud - yes, rivalry - no) yet. Hate to say it, but the admission of aTm (tolerable) and Missouri (yuck) is probably going to end what we have started. Too bad. This could actually turn nasty in a few years.

So you are saying football prowess matters less than cross country????

Dumb and dumber.

Cross country national championships are recognized by the NCAA.

"national championships" in football on the FBS level, not so much.

That's what I'm sayin.

Both are recognized as the champions of their sport. That is what you find impossible to understand.

I really hope the LSU-Ark game isn't move from Thanksgiving weekend to allow A&M-LSU and Ark-Mizzou to play at that time instead. That would be retarded.

Yup, I literally checked NCAA records 30 seconds ago and there was no mention of attendance having anything to do with the requirements for a championship.

However, you can keep telling yourself it means something if it makes you cope with the fact that Arkansas has been more successful in the SEC than LSU over the same period of time.

And pretty much nobody really cares.

Name the last 5 Track and field champs. How many people do you think can?

Now ask people to name the last 5 BCS Champs.

By all participating schools who agree and compete in the process...

So you are saying, if Arkansas wins the BCS ship you will refuse to recognize it as in fact, a national championship?

Not that there is any risk of this actually happening.

If someone came up to me and continuously tried to convince me that 28 was greater than 31 I'd probably call them delusional as well.
