2 years short of that Oklahoma score. RIP in peace, Coach.

This made me laugh and shows how bad Oklahoma was beating them in the 3rd quarter. R.I.P.

The same BAMA fans that put up with Mike Shula's Jumbo Package for 4 years? Baloney.

And, what happened to Shula, and how is he remembered as a HC?

Fran likely would have had moderate success, but the valleys would have been deeper than the peaks would be high. And, God love us, we are a passionate fan base, not a patient one

He could have been retained, most likely, with some alterations and assurances to his contract earlier on.

He took a job that materially changed almost immediately after signing a contract in a much worse way than he was led to believe. It didn't work out for he and Bama. But, it wasn't a "fit" thing. Under different circumstances, he was likely a very good "fit."

The situation, communication and full understanding of the severity of the sanctions was the issue.

Sorry to hear that, I guess I'll need to finally move on and quit hating on him.

RIP Coach.

Okay, so he left. You just described a man who wasn't handling the fan base. Can you call it what it was? PRESSURE. He felt what he felt; who's finding fault with that?

If you want to convince me that somehow someone has done Fran wrong, or that he feared a talent drain so he is now leaving BAMA for a second-tier team in College Station, uh, NO. The lights simply were not as bright in Texas. A famous philosopher put it best, "A man's got to know his limitations." I give him credit for knowing his.

One of the best data points out there for just how snakebite our program really is.

Him and Gene Stallings.

Bear could have been the exception if not for that bastard reporter.

He destroyed Nick Saban's LSU team 31-0 in 2002 in BDS West when they were ranked #14.

I used to really look forward to his "Fridays with Fran" segments on his website.

RIP

The highlight of his coaching career. He was a jerk to Saban during the postgame handshake over something Saban said.
