No hog fan thinks we are the best team in the nation. We make run in to the top ten about once every 3 to 4 years. We have be a thorn in the side of Auburn and LSU at times.

To say we are delusional would be to say that we live in a false reality ruled by our imagination. I am sure that floats some boats, but a delusion implies something being psychologically wrong, and deludes the point.
There are some fanbases that are delusional, but we have the history to back up things, If we didnt, then wed be delusional.
Examples of delusional fanbases: Cubs fans, Arkansas football fans, Alabama baseball fans, Mets fans, Lane Kiffin(douche), Al Davis(that may be a literal with him, which is why i add him)
Egotistical fan bases: PHILLY FANS OF ALL SPORTS, New England fans, Yankee's fans, Us, Vol fans
Going by peoples description of us anyway.

Yes. A good portion of the bama faithful live in the past. Most posters here are pretty good about it, but, in general, bama fans are more likely to brag about past achievements than other fanbases. These bama fans act like the history of their team somehow entitles the current team.

No argument here for the most part. That's mainly cuz they either remember the Bear days or their parents have drilled into their brains the glory of the Bear days.

delusions of grandeur have helped many Alabama fans get through some miserable times. good thing we had some GOOD memories to help weather the storm. ;)
and... just to stir it up a little. there's no doubt in my mind, that IF God liked college football, there's no question He'd be a fan of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. just THROWING that out there... letting y'all know how i really feel. pfft.. of course God doesn't like football though.. of course ;)

here is an example...my brother is an obnoxious gump....we are now estranged.....when his son was 5 he came up to me and said......auburn stinks , alabama rules, and then added that alabama had a coach along time ago that won tons of championships and his name was bear or something......the kid never had a chance

Well, After she married my Dad she liked Florida too. I think she rooted for Florida over Bam in the last few years of her life. Bless her.

Claiming the numbers your qb puts up against UNT makes him a Hesiman winner...explain that one. No offense, but to say Tiger fans are similar to Gumps is laughable. Have you not heard of the term negatiger? According to them, LSU sucks.
