Unlike football, winning the conference title (tourney) in baseball guarantees one the chance to play for a national title.

As in basketball, the tourney winner is the one that gets the automatic bid.
As to my point, I was simply stating that I found it interesting that the conference title suddenly became less important to some LSU fans.

Teams like LSU & Vandy this season don't really care about this tourney b/c they have their national seeds locked, they gain nothing from this tourney except extra chance at hardware that doesn't come close to what their goal is this season.
Everyone else in this tourney has something to gain whether it be a chance at a national seed, a chance to host a regional, or just a chance to solidify their position in the field of 64 & get their names off the bubble.
