Decision That The Committee Finally Has To Make

It's a simple question for the committee:
1 Do you put the best 4 teams in?
or
2. Do you put the 4 most deserving teams in?
I honestly believe it should be the 4 most deserving teams. There have been plenty of examples of teams at the end of the year who were playing better than anyone else, but they didn't deserve it.
1993 Notre Dame was probably the best team in the country that year and beat FSU head to head.
2003 USC could (and does, even though to most of us it's a paper title) argue they were better than either LSU or Oklahoma and would've handled either team.
2004 Auburn absolutely had a claim they were the best team in the country and while USC would've beaten them, they could absolutely claim they would've beaten Oklahoma.
2007 Georgia was absolutely playing like the best team in the country at the end of that year. You could make the argument they beat LSU if they played. No one wanted to play them at the end of the year.
2012 a whole host of teams could claim they were better than Notre Dame that year. Heck 2012 Ohio State could claim they were the best team in the country at the end of the year. Texas A&M beat Bama that year and was playing better than Notre Dame at the end of the year.
But at the end of the day none of those teams got a chance. And they shouldn't have gotten a chance because they didn't earn it. They had the opportunities and blew it. Bama always starts the year with the path right in front of them. Go undefeated and there's no debate. The best 4 is always subjective. Bama fans think they are the best. I think if Texas and Bama played again Texas dominates them again. The most deserving 4 is typically a lot clearer and is the better criteria.
Bama and UGA might still be 2 of the best 4 teams, but neither earned the right to be in the CFP. Neither took care of business. The other teams, whether you all like or not, did take care of business. That still means something.

Unless you’re in the SEC how do you claim an undefeated P5 team isn’t as good as a team with one loss? That’s a subjective decision that the Committee doesn’t want to make. I think Bama and Georgia are 1 and 2 over the field … but I’m biased.

That 2004 Auburn defense coupled with our running game would have been a nightmare for USC.

Screw the everyone “deserves” a trophy mentality.
It should be the 4 best teams. Ask the Vegas linemakers who that is. It would be some combination of Michigan, Washington, Bama, Georgia and Ohio St.

Best 4 teams is speculative
4 most deserving have proved it on field by playing the e game
It’s not this hard people.

I’d say the four best teams are Bama UGA Michigan and Texas
I also believe FSU can beat UGA or Bama

If Texas played Oklahoma again, do they get dominated again ?

They’ll claim it’s 4 best, but it is 4 most deserving/biggest draw for TV.

If we go the best 4…..why play the games…scrap it all and hand pick too 4

We play the games so we can watch and determine who looks best, since there is such disparity in scheduling and so few slots in playoff.

And again if UGA had taken care of business yesterday you're 100% in with no question. But UGA didn't take care of business, the other teams did.
Many could argue that UGA was exposed yesterday. That UGA was only undefeated because of an almost historically bad SEC East and that Bama was the first test UGA really had. When Missouri is the second best team in the SEC East you know the SEC East is down.
You could easily argue Michigan (playing Ohio State), Washington (playing Oregon twice, Oregon State and Utah), Texas (play the same Bama team you couldn't beat as well as Oklahoma State) and FSU (playing LSU, Clemson and Louisville) were all just as tested if not more tested than UGA.
FSU of course is the weakest of the four but at the end of the day they took care of business. They won the ACC with their third string QB. How many teams would UGA have beaten with their third string QB? Just off the top of my head I'm guessing they don't beat Georgia Tech (who lost to the same Louisville team that FSU just beat), Ole Miss, Missouri or Auburn with a third string QB.
You're right, you are biased, and you should be as a fan. But at the end of the day UGA wasn't tested until yesterday and it showed. UGA isn't one of the 4 best teams in the country IMO and absolutely is not one of the 4 most deserving teams.

Bama went undefeated in the best conference
is the SEC not the best anymore?
