Didn’t you guys just hire an OL coach?

I doubt Napier will match the high water marks of Mullen or even Boom.

This is very troubling

Bob is 61 years old. Not sure that’s the direction we need.

He’s been retired long enough that 17 year olds likely don’t know who he is.

I hope Napier has a ton of success and we meet them in the SEC Championship.

Now that would be a fun matchup.

Florida has a history of trying to get coaches early in their careers. Urban Meyer, Will Muschamp, and Jim McElwain didn’t have extensive head coaching resumes (in Muschamp’s case he didn’t have any HC experience) when hired.

Dan Mullen is the outlier.

I think Napier has a ton of potential and would have liked to see him at LSU. But Woodward’s M-O is to go with a big name and mitigate any risk when hiring coaches.

They got a guy who checked the boxes and was their first choice

I think Napier is probably a good choice.

I see Auburn use the metaphor of "checked boxes" a lot.

In your view....what boxes were checked by the Napier hire? (This is not a trap question...I am genuinely curious)

Inside source told me that they wanted a guy who they knew could beat Kirby at Georgia.

We'll see how that turns out.

Mainly I’d say recruiter, team builder and a guy who has a good coaching pedigree.

Not socially awkward like the last guy helps lol

He did manage to make The University of Louisiana Cajuns the highest ranked team in the state of Louisiana.

But given the state of football in the state of Louisiana, I'm not sure that's much of an accomplishment.

Scott S still hires coaches as if he is as MSU.

It probably doesn't hurt that they've been forced to have a replacement candidate on deck since Urban took his ball and went home after he couldn't even without Tebow.

SS started on this weeks before DM was fired.
BN has a good reputation amongst coaches they talked to.
Young, calculated football junkie with a very good coaching pedigree. Said to be a very good recruiter and team builder, laid out his demands along with possible staff additions in his interview and they were so impressive that SS ended his search on the spot.

And stood his ground when they pushed for him to report before his championship game.

Won my respect right then!

ULL had enough TV games to lead to speculation about his next job. Somebody at Florida watched those games and here we are.
