That game sucked. But we won the natty so IDGAF. Y’all ended 8-4 what a waste of a great backfield.

That was back when we ran off coaches after going 8-4 and beating the eventual national champion. Sam would get a lifetime contract if he pulled that off.

Definitely thought this loss ruined the season when it happened. Was an exciting, exhausting, and ultimately devastating finish as an LSU fan. Even Casey Dick made plays on us. If it wasn't for the miraculous finish to the season that pushed LSU back into the title game, this loss would go down as one of LSU's biggest disappointments and championship destroyers.

Those guys were so good.
But knowing what we know now about pelini,
It’s not a surprise.
He had the most talented roster in the country at that time and only had to defend a few possessions per game due to the lsu offense ground and pound style, and still struggled.
Arkansas gameplan in that game was tough.
Hats off to them
Great game!

Pretty sure Les declared that LSU was undefeated that season. Turns out that if you lose in OT it doesn't count.

He played multiple positions in high school.

He would have been a great safety.

That 2007 team should’ve won 10-11 games with competent coaching.

A game Arkansas should’ve won, although Kentucky was decent that year.

Tragic? Come on now. McFadden was:

Doak Walker winner x2
Walter Camp PoY x2
1st team All-SEC x2
Heisman runner up x2
SEC PoY x1

at Arkansas. That ain’t tragic. He got robbed of a Heisman, though.

If the 06 offense had a better passing game, they would have beaten both LSU and Florida.

Arkansas would have been in the title game and they wouldn't have a choice but give McFadden the heisman.

No national title.

No SEC title.

Not even a bowl win.

He won an SEC West title but that was ruined by the LSU loss.

He won a lot of individual awards but he deserved better.

You are right, times have changed. That was Nutt's last game at Arkansas, didn't coach in the Cotton Bowl, finished with a winning record in SEC play.

Arkansas since then is 50 games below .500 in conference play.

Your previous AD was horrible, can't believe Kansas hired him.

He hired 4 football coaches in his career the four he chose were Dave Wannstedt, JL Smith, Bobby Petrino, and Les Miles

Didn't he give Bret Beliema a contract extension when he had a 2-14 SEC record
