Points + assists. Check the post above yours.
Again,.Pete is one of the all time greats, but Acuff is statistically better and I'm pretty sure that that can be adjusted for the absence/admittance of the 3 point line. He is certainly more efficient.

Your right after I posted that I started thinking I'm setting myself up for gay porn.

Guessing this is a troll attempt, but no he isn't.
Acuff has had a season for the record books, but he will only have 1 year in college. Hard to compare disparate data.

Which stats are you referring to here?

Pete played before the three point shot
“ Analyses by his coaches indicate that, had a three-point line existed, his scoring average would have risen to over 54-57 points per game, given his tendency to take long shots”
Had there been a 3 point line, coaches would have defended him differently.
He’s an all-time great.
It’s apples and oranges to compare 1970 to 2026.

So much hype for someone who couldn’t even make a 3-point shot.

Efficiency. Both led the league in scoring and assists. Maravich turned the ball over way more than Acuff and didn't shoot as well.

The tourney had 23 teams his sophomore year and 25 teams his junior and senior year. He did play in the NIT which was the next 16 teams.

What? Acuff is awesome but couldn't touch Chris Jackson's freshman year at LSU, 30PPG

I've never seen Pete beyond old highlights but I do know Acuff is the best point guard I've seen come out of the SEC in my lifetime.

I don’t know which of the below is the dumbest shite I’ve ever read, but one of them certainly is.
A- you thinking this bum is better than The Pistol
or
B- you thinking that sorry piece of shite patheticbama is an LSU fan.

The Pistol played three seasons of varsity college basketball, Acuff will likely only play one. There was no 3 point goal when the Pistol played. Both great players, but you’re getting way ahead of yourself to day Acuff is better.

Does he have a cool nickname like Pistol Pete?

"Check the stats".....for a single season. Pete did it for 3 straight years. And Pete made some shots Acuff could only dream about. Besides the no-three -point- shot, another factor is there was no shot clock back when Pete played, a 4 corner offense, made famous by N. Carolina, took a lot of points off the board.

This is true. Maravich was an awful basketball player at LSU if one takes account of the thing that matters (i.e., contributing to winning basketball games).
