Answer: His source is in deep #### with his bosses for leaking info. It's too gray an area and too dangerous a road to go down. I don't blame Sheridan for not naming a name. He'll get over people trashing him for it but it would be a lot worse knowing you caused a friend to lose their job and to lose all your sources.
After the Miami expose' yesterday - it sounds like the bosses on Danny's NCAA source may have his arse in a sling. Paul Dee's is the head of enforcement at the NCAA. With a person like that running the NCAA, I don't see how anyone could lose their job for leaking info to Danny Sheridan.

The problem with those that want to see Auburn busted is that he's also admitted that it will take a badly disgruntled person involved in the situation to make any of the allegations stick.
One never knows what the NCAA will do - they chose to believe a known felon, Lloyd Lake in the USC case and he had very little if any evidence to provide, they just took him at his word.

There have been accusations, rumors, allegations, etc about many programs over the years and I can't remember ever hearing a peep from Sheridan, he never even gave his own opinion on things. This whole thing is just so out of the norm for him, it's weird.
Sorry, you're wrong. He was on Finebaum quite a bit during the Albert means case, for sure...and I'm pretty sure he was on a lot for the textbook case as well.

All he said in May was that the $Cam Newton investigation was ongoing. He was right, even tho AU fans trashed him for what he said.

Easy there killer!!! Where the frick did I say Sheridan was a grand honorable guy?? Before you jump on me carefully read my entire post.
I agree that he never should have ran his mouth to begin with. I think he even admitted today on the show that he regretted coming on Paul's show in the first place when asked to do so. I don't know why he thought what he said in May wasn't going to create a stir.
Wait...so now we are kind of agreeing with each other?
Well hell...what am I supposed to do now? Please trash Tebow or Meyer real quick just to set the universe right again.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't he say that Bama would get nothing more than a slap on the wrist according to his sources?

His ego won't allow him to cut corners and make stuff up which is why I believe he is telling the truth.
ETA: FWIW, I'm not sure if he is making it up or not. I tend to believe there is someone out there has has told him this, but he knows the info is dubious or unverifiable at best.

Well, I did say I couldn't remember....
Hell I can't remember what I ate for breakfast. And, I decided long ago to block those old Means & textbook cases out of my memory altogether.

Didn't he record the conversation he had with Bush and his family?

If he's telling the truth about what the NCAA told him (and he is), barners nationwide will be on suicide watch.
