Because I highly believe Emmert and Co wish the matter be swept under the rug, if possible. With so many other NCAA wildfires ablaze, that came to light without their instigation.

Have you read the old SI article about Sheridan? It really puts some of this into perspective. I had always liked the guy and found him entertaining and respectable before I learned more about him and he pulled this stunt.

People keep saying "Sheridan created this circus" but the fact is he didn't. The listeners and message boards created "the circus" and terribly misconstrued what he said he was going to say.
