Wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Wolken viewed him as his mentor. He’s just an older version of Wolken from the same newspaper. It’s a wonder how he’s made a career in the South with how obnoxiously liberal he is

Good luck. ESPN has decided it would rather be a political channel that tangentially uses sports to make a broader point. The local media where I'm at can't give you a sports story without a Covid warning embedded. I live outside of Louisville. KSR - the local house organ for UK - Op Eds at least once a day about the dangers of going forward with the games. No less than Matt Jones, the founder, opined about how he wished he could nudge high school football into cancelling.
And then you have the folks that have caught Covid Religion. They have to evangelize about it. Or, I don't know, they go to Viral Hell or something.
All I can figure is this. Most people have a hole in themselves that needs filling. Used to be, religion did the trick. Then it became politics and entertainment. Things were better when it was religion.
