I mean, isn’t that sort of what recruiting is

Surprised his recruiting strategy wasn't just offering up his wife to all the recruits on their visit. Or maybe she just pleases the current players on roster

It's arrogance. Like Chip Kelly, he believes so much in himself to scheme as a playcaller that he undervalued the talent available and was not/is not willing to put in the effort

This isn't discussed enough with Mullen. Mullen thought it was an honor for a kid to play for the genius Mullen thinks himself to be. I've heard prospects pretty much say this. It was "beneath" Mullen to recruit.

AJ Brown (Starkville native) was the #4 WR in the class and Mullen never even bothered to contact him, as I recall. Aj had said it felt like MSU just expected him to come.

He grew up an LSU fan, and I guess Miles didn't really push for him either.

AJ brown was also a twitter drama queen. He sent daily updates on how Mullen didn’t respek him and his family.

He was horrible. He forgot to sign whole position groups sometimes and hoped a random juco player would come on board 2 years later after not signing OL in a class. Luckily Mississippi has an awesome juco football system and it doesn't hurt one of the best programs was 20 minutes from Starkville.

There's also this:

Though he was starting to take a closer look at the Gators, there was an issue. Back in mid-June Etienne informed Inside the Gators via Twitter direct message that he was having an issue getting in touch with the Florida coaching staff.

All of this gets said once a coach is fired.
