Male nurses are starting to make more than females these days too, which is pretty ironic.

I have personal experience of making less than male counterparts for the same job, as do many other females.
My example: I worked as a cheer instructor for UCA in college where females typically always made less than men even when the females usually had more responsibilities. This was due to the sheer amount of female cheerleaders versus male cheerleaders, but it still wasn't right.
Sounds to me like the female side of your marketplace was oversaturated -- while there was high demand and low supply for the males. Either way, "activity" professions such as that should be discluded from the discussion IMO due to there being some levels of necessary "biases" to keep them running smoothly. I imagine it was a lot harder for them to find male cheerleaders to take the job than females -- and thus harder/more necessary to hold onto those males. Higher demand is, of course, going to drive the price up to an extent...

It is still less pay for equal work, which is the debate here.

Seems like based on your logic regarding my example, females should be raking it in.

According to a 2010 report on Fortune 500 companies, women represented only 2% of CEOs, 14% of top executives and 16% of corporate directors. Some two-thirds of such companies had at least one woman in their executive ranks, however

Male executives receive greater compensation than female executives, and the difference is statistically significant. In real dollar terms, men are paid $1,443,607 (in 2000 dollars) on average, while women receive $1,018,107 (in 2000 dollars) on average, or 42% less than men.”

Who gives a frick who the flagship is? I don't, and no one else should either. I'm not even sure what the definition of one is.
This is a typical State v. Ole Miss thread. I'm disappoint in you guys.

So, you use the top .01% of the population to make your point?
Posted on 5/9/13 at 5:31 pm to engie
Yes because it counters your point of saying an abundance of supply will drive the pay down. There is an abundance of male CEOs compared to female CEOs, but females still make significantly less. And I don't think you can argue that the males were more qualified when you get to the level of CEO.
Furthermore, you asked for stats. I have provided you with some, just not ones you like.
