Saban did the same thing to Miami.
You're wrong. Saban might have told reporters he would not be the coach at Bama.... but Saban at least told the owner, Wayne Huizenga, he was leaving.

quote:

Saban, who had repeatedly denied in recent weeks that he would take the Alabama job, told Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga of his decision during a morning meeting at Saban's house.

quote:

Saban told Huizenga Wednesday morning he wanted to leave South Florida to return to college ball and campus life. But Saban added he would remain if Huizenga insisted he do so. Huizenga, realizing Saban's heart was not in the job, wished him luck at Alabama and said the remaining three years on his contract were not an issue. ''If somebody doesn't want to be here, the contract is not going to necessarily compel them to perform services,'' Wiedmeier said.

He also had a conference call with his staff that he was leaving.

quote:

DOMINO EFFECT Saban told his coaches he was leaving via conference call. All are in limbo now despite their contract status. ''That's the nature of our business,'' Capers said. Several assistants might follow Saban to Alabama -- chief among them Scott O'Brien, Miami's coordinator of football operations and assistant head coach. Running backs coach Bobby Williams and safeties coach Kirby Smart also seem likely to leave.

Enos twitter

I would never leave an employer without telling them I was doing so. No ghosting here. Nothing but respect for CNS and Alabama. Bottom line, business is business and it was time for me to exit. Wish all the best to RTR, CNS and the program.

I don't think Dan Enos was going to be the next OC regardless of what a message board may have thought (which is I assume where you got all of that theory), but I don't care that Enos isn't on staff anymore. The thread is about how he left, and I just think it's shitty regardless of the field/profession you're in. I certainly hope you wouldn't just up and leave a job you work at without telling anybody.

People are saying it's a bitch move by Enos. What everyone seems to forget is saban done the same thing at Miami. Oh the hypocrisy.

Are you insinuating Saban didn't have meetings and prior communication with Wayne Huizenga before he accepted the Bama job?

Saban has disrespected his assistants for years though and no one blinks about that. If you want people to respect you as a person then it behooves you to not act like an a-hole.

Member when he fired Kiffin right before the national championship game? This, after Kiffin got them there.

That's going to be such an entertaining story for everybody when what really happened gets out. Let's just say Lane didn't exactly have the same drive after he landed the FAU job.

Actually I got that theory from several media sources... media sources that cover Alabama football. Its been discussed since Locksley announced he was heading to Maryland. It was hardly a secret that Enos was the heir apparent for the OC job and when Saban got second thoughts Enos took the first good job he could find.

As Enos said... business is business. If Saban wanted Dan to stay, he knew the job that would have kept them there.

Correct. And as you said he had plenty of time to offer it to him, and didn't. Which is why I said he wouldn't be on staff again regardless. Hence nobody should be mad he left. For like the upteenth time, it was about how he left. Surely you wouldn't leave a job by just not showing up the next day.
