So does this put Aggie behind yet another team in Texas besides their daddy UT in the big three sports?

Yeah a lot but reading comprehension isn't your strong suit so you may want to bow out of this thread

Baseball at Mizzou will never be much of a thing. Our baseball itch in Columbia comes from having 2 Missouri MLB teams within 2 hours. At Mizzou the clear #3 sport is wrestling. It is what it is.

There’s honestly a lot worse in this state than Florence, but I get what you’re saying.

What helps them is North Texas and SMU not having baseball teams.

that and just a lot of good baseball/recruits from a 50 mile radius to go with your point. DFW is a top 10 market for talent easily.

I actually know a part of the original question on money allotment. Mizzou’s first check ($30mm+) from the SEC had to go to visiting teams facilities such as locker rooms, etc. as dictated by the SEC for inclusion.

Now after that...I have no clue but it appears the monies are going into football renovations. Stadium looks pretty darn sweet nowadays.

Let's not go aggy here (never go aggy) and start claiming you paid for facilities in SEC cash. Most of it was debt, none of it came from athletics revenue (other than future pay-downs on the debt that are linked to ticket revenue).

Why do SMU and North Texas not have baseball? That's insane for schools in Texas.

Especially SMU - they must have played baseball at one point?

Title IX/budget issues. UNT was not making budget at the time and the program was not good. They made a run at baseball again in the late 80's. SMU cut the same era as everyone else (late 70's early 80's), budget being the reason as well.. ironically that was same period that the "Pony Express" was doling out thousands to football players/recruits like it was candy.

I believe it’s a Title Nine issue. UTEP doesn’t either. SMU had a club team for a while. May still have it?

Visions of Eric Dickerson riding around in his TA donated by the aggies right? Still plays for SMU...is that the story from old?

I'd gladly trade baseball for wrestling. Stupid Title IX...
