That what won't happen to him? To completely underperform at your job and still be guaranteed an outrageous salary? Gus is certainly no Saban, but he saw Tuberville run off 2 years after an undefeated season and still took the job. He saw Chizik fired 2 years after an undefeated season and still took the job. I'm not sure how that is supposed to scare somebody away from the job. Sure it may look bad, but that's exactly what the naysayers said in 2012.

What other P5 school was after Gus? It's not like other P5 schools were beating down his door. He was at Arky St. for goodness sake. Auburn has zero chance of getting an established P5 HC if you fire the previous HC one year into a monster deal.........and don't give me this shite about Auburn paying $7M to a new HC. $3 mill is about the max Auburn would pay an incoming HC. IF Auburn offers Jimbo $7M a year last year, Jimbo would be at Auburn right now.

I really don't like Dabo, but I'd be onboard just to see Tillman melt.

Of course it's never going to happen.

Vandy, North Carolina, Kansas, Maryland before he took the Arky State job. He would've gotten a decent job after padding the stats there for a couple of years. He was still considered a pretty good coach at the time, just not mentioned with the Sabans and Meyers of the world.

Didn't say a word about it. Couldn't afford that nor would we lure a coach that would command that. But it doesn't take a $7 mil coach to beat the UT and Miss States of the world. Not with top-10 recruiting talent.

Maybe. But he's not worth that either.

The LSU fan base will go ballistic. It'll be worse than the Jimbo melt.

Auburn is not going to pay that 32 million buyout, and Gus Will not go quietly in to the night without it. Instead he will rage rage against the dying of the buyout.

It is not his fault we gave him a ridiculous contract. The president is probably shitting a brick.

Why those two? They are both better programs than Auburn and should be favored in the games!

Seems like auburn won the last game played against those teams, if I remember correctly.

You don't get paid $7 mil/ year to lose those games.

Oh, how was he illegal, Redman? You'd better get your report over to the NCAA before the statute of limitations expires.

2 game win streak, so no.

Look It up the NCAA did in fact find him as ineligible.

Auburn even declared him as ineligible. The NCAA reinstated him with no sanctions, in a move that has completely flown against everything that was ever designed to protect amateurism.

His dad solicited money from MSU. It doesn't matter whether he actually received the money or not. He asked for it and since the existence of the NCAA that has been a violation that always made a player ineligible.

Look it up. It's all true.

Not against the rules at the time.

It didn't then. Had he signed with Miss State it would have. There was never an issue with Auburn, that's why he played every game. I am glad to know he's STILL on your mind after all this time.

Oh yeah. So we wasn't "illegal" or ineligible during any game? That's right, I didn't think so.
