Dabo with two generational QBs (Watson, Lawrence): 67-5 (.9306)
Dabo without a generational QB: 82-31 (.7257)
Mark Richt career record at UGA: 145-51 (.7398)

We've all seen how a generational QB can cover up a lot of issues (LSU with Joe Burrow, Auburn with Cam Newton, A&M with Manziel, etc.). Add in stumbling upon one of the top coordinators in all of college football who is now gone.

It was a great run but Clemson's time as a CFB superpower has come to an end.

Are they really generational quarterbacks if there's five of them in the same generation?

There's also the fact that Mark Richt is a real Christian and Dabo is more of a cult leader.

Thank you. I want to punch pretty much everyone who uses this phrase.

If Richt had the playoff system in his tenure, especially his first 5 years, he might have the same number of trophies as Dabo.

He gets the benefit of beating up on the soft ACC all year and only has to get up for 1-2 playoff games. Clemson would have maybe 1 chip if they had to slug through the SEC year in year out.

When did Mark Richt ever beat Alabama in a title game by 4 TDs?

If it weren't for 2019 LSU taking a nasty shite on Clemson, Dabo would've been crowned the king of college football.

“Lulz, your team only won it all cuz they had great players”

How do people recover from such a burn?

Once is luck, twice is a pattern. I have never seen a group of fans that love to run down their own alumni like gumps; well with the exception of some LSU fans.

Mark Richt was an underrated coach. He had his faults, but won two conference championships and played in several BCS bowl games. I would have loved to have seen some of his top teams in the Playoffs. The 2007 team was playing as good as anyone at the end of the year. Mark held players accountable and kicked so many guys off the team we were down to 65 scholarship players certain some years. He wasn’t an elite coach but he was a really good next tier type coach and much better person.

This descriptor is as overused now as "physicality."

Still can't believe nothing has been uncovered with Clemson and how they got some of these players to go play in a cow pasture in the upstate of South Carolina.

Heisman Trophy winning quarterbacks make a team better. Who knew?

Richt had some pretty good QBs in Athens even if most of them didn't work out in the NFL. Stafford has produced in the league even on the Lions.

If UF beats Bama in 2009, Urban Meyer never has a fake heart attack and bails
If Texas beats Bama in 2009, perhaps they never collapse
If LSU beats Bama in the 2011 rematch, Les would've instantly been a legend
If UGA beats Bama in 2012, Richt wins a natty and likely never gets fired.

I could play this game all day long...

Oh I remember that team. They played Hawaii in the something bowl. The most interesting part of that game was the haka and seeing if UGA was literally going to kill the Hawaii QB.

If that Oklahoma St plane didn't crash and have a ton of players distracted for that Thursday night game at Iowa St its probably Okie St in the Natty vs LSU

He recruits well and hires great coaches! He sucks as a head coach! This argument that Dabo is lucky because he’s responsible for both of these doesn’t make sense.
Cade Kubrick is on his way to take over the QB position and to be back in the title game in the coming years.
