I don't think he had enough of a track record to be a serious contender for these jobs. These schools would have missed big on their top target for Nate to get these jobs.

UNC and Duke promoted from within, while Indiana hired a 63 year old with no collegiate coaching experience. Nate 100% would've been a splashier hire than any of those guys. IU especially would've taken him in a heartbeat.
6-6 was the best Barn Horsin' could do with Gus's recruits. He has yet to show that he can recruit at the level that Gus could. The future of AU football is in the dumpster.
Nate is staying for the long run. He was the hottest coaching candidate last job cycle when the Duke, UNC, and Indiana jobs came open, yet he didn't bounce. The sky is the limit to what he is building in Tuscaloosa, and we certainly won't be outbid by anybody.

If it weren't for 2019 LSU taking a nasty shite on Clemson, Dabo would've been crowned the king of college football.

If UF beats Bama in 2009, Urban Meyer never has a fake heart attack and bails
If Texas beats Bama in 2009, perhaps they never collapse
If LSU beats Bama in the 2011 rematch, Les would've instantly been a legend
If UGA beats Bama in 2012, Richt wins a natty and likely never gets fired.

I could play this game all day long...
Dabo with two generational QBs (Watson, Lawrence): 67-5 (.9306)
Dabo without a generational QB: 82-31 (.7257)
Mark Richt career record at UGA: 145-51 (.7398)

We've all seen how a generational QB can cover up a lot of issues (LSU with Joe Burrow, Auburn with Cam Newton, A&M with Manziel, etc.). Add in stumbling upon one of the top coordinators in all of college football who is now gone.

It was a great run but Clemson's time as a CFB superpower has come to an end.

Going .500 against Ed Orgeron is elite?

Kirby is 0-2 against Orgeron with both losses being lopsided FWIW...

Bryan Harsin took Saban to 4 OT with a backup QB. Legend.

Gene Chizk, Ed Orgeron, and Kevin Sumlin all have wins over Nick Saban. Your point?

Harsin isn't a bad coach, but he is vastly inferior to every other coach in his division and can't recruit in the South.
Your current SEC West coaches:

- The GOAT Nick Saban (7 national titles)
- Jimbo Fisher (1 national title)
- Brian Kelly (2 playoff appearances + 1 BCS championship appearance)
- Mike Leach (the mastermind behind the Air Raid)
- Lane Kiffin (just led Ole Miss to their best season post integration)
- Sam Pittman (has miraculously turned around Arkansas's program within 2 years)
- Some guy named Bryan Harsin

Recruiting is currently ranked 33rd nationally. Nix and Bigsby are rumored to be considering the transfer portal.

Congrats, Aubie on becoming the next Tennessee

Napier is not a Woody type hire

LSU isn't getting a "Woody Type Hire"
Crazy to think about. Things seemed to change a lot in college football between 2014-15 and the same teams have dominated the sport since then (Bama, Clemson, OSU, Oklahoma)
TEXAS A&M 13 Mississippi
ALABAMA 24.5 Mississippi State
Kentucky 6 TENNESSEE
GEORGIA 14 Auburn
Louisiana State 13.5 ARKANSAS
Alabama 29 TENNESSEE
LOUISIANA STATE 7 Mississippi State
KENTUCKY 11.5 Vanderbilt
AUBURN 15 Tennessee
Florida 7.5 VANDERBILT
Texas A&M 2.5 SOUTH CAROLINA
ALABAMA 28.5 Missouri
Mississippi 7 ARKANSAS
Alabama 36 ARKANSAS
SOUTH CAROLINA 1 Missouri
Louisiana State 3 FLORIDA
TEXAS A&M 5.5 Kentucky
Texas A&M 21.5 Arkansas *
GEORGIA 31.5 Tennessee
Georgia 14 MISSOURI
South Carolina 2.5 VANDERBILT
Mississippi State 10 KENTUCKY
AUBURN 30 Arkansas
AUBURN 9 Louisiana State
ARKANSAS 7 North Texas
GEORGIA 33 Middle Tennessee State

Saban has beaten five 8-win Auburn teams that would've won nine had he lost to them
