Interesting. Freshman vs Senior. Inexperience vs Experience. Should be a good one tomorrow. Hopefully we get the bats going early and can rattle him.

I guess I didn't answer your question. Sorry.
I didn't get to see him pitch that much in the Super because of all the rain delays.

yup, get to him quick is best. Some guys can go after 3 and barely miss a step, others come out flat or tired. Got a fee;ing we are going to see gm 3 and get a chance for a great one.
Great for the conference and especially these 2 programs/fanbases

Dyson has the stuff. He sits 93-96 with movement into right handed batters. Plus slider that sits in the low to mid 80's and a slightly less developed change up than what you'd see from Singer/Byrne/Kowar. He's pitched sparingly throughout the year but in huge moments in the super regional he delivered. Probably our Saturday or Sunday starter next year. Need him to be our national championship clinching starter tonight.
He's the type that is stoic and if he gets into a rhythm and zone then it will be a long night for LSU hitters. It should be a good one between two really good pitchers. Hopefully Florida finishes them, because I just do not trust Jackson Kowar after what we've seen from him in the postseason.

I have an eerie feeling that LSU's bats are going to wake up for this game

Thanks. Oddly enough we've been better against the guys bringing MLB type heat this postseason than the junk throwers.
You don't think Faedo would pitch tomorrow if we win tonight?

I think you'd have to see Faedo in relief at the very least. If it comes to Game 3 I'm still hoping for Faedo to start, limit his pitch count, & hopefully he can get us enough innings for Byrne/rest of our staff to close it out.

You know if Faedo gets that ball in Game 3 he's going to throw at least 7 innings. He knows it's his last game.

Well, there's what he will want to do and what he's physically capable of doing. He went over 100 pitches on Saturday.

He probably won't have his ace stuff, but he's still better than anyone else Florida could throw out there in that situation.

He's probably going to be shut down for the rest of the year by the Tigers anyway. He'll be fine.

You guys sound scared as shite about facing Faedo.

Scared? No. Would I enjoy the benefit of your ace not being 100%? Yes.

If game three is necessary, I would expect our plan and best case scenario, Sully's dream, to be something like this:
Jackson Kowar starts, wants 4-6 innings out of him, give up 1-3 runs, short leash and pull him if he gets into trouble as he has his last couple of starts
Faedo first in relief, 2-3 innings, zero runs
Byrne closes out the last 1-3 innings, zero runs

There's some good conversation going in the game thread right now. Go troll elsewhere.

See my last post. I don't think there's any way, with Faedo's competitive fire, that he doesn't throw at all in game 3.
I know that I have been hard on Kowar, he has good stuff, my problem with him is mostly his demeanor. Faedo and Singer have this special quality that you don't see often in pitchers. They have the mindset that I can beat any hitter on every pitch, because none of you are good enough to touch my stuff.
Kowar just doesn't seem to have that same mindset and emotion when he throws. It's part of the game that you can't quantify with numbers. Hopefully we won't have the stress of a game 3 though and we can finish it tonight. It'll be good either way.

They're investing $4 million in him so he will be ready contribute to the major league team in a couple of years. I don't think they are too concerned with making sure a guy as seasoned as Faedo gets 35 innings of work in Short Season ball. And it won't be the summer off. He will still be training with the club. Either way, he's likely a guy they're planning on starting in at least High-A ball in 2018. It's not uncommon for guys that were high-use in college to get shut down. These teams are protecting their investments in terms of innings and work.

I agree with Atlgator on UF's likely pitching plan if it gets to 3 games.
Don't think Faedo starts, but I think he comes in for relief if needed on a limited basis.
UF's depth of freakish arms is impressive. Tigers losing Walker to injury and having to come out of losers bracket has been really tough.
I think PM set up Tiger pitching the best way possible...given what he had to work with.
Nothing but respect for Sully and his program. Two great teams.
