Here's every college football team currently sporting a corporate logo on its uniform entering the 2026 season, including the Big 12's conference-wide deal with Monster Energy.

Here’s a thought on all this sponsor money. In most other sports when a sponsor gets their name on something they will also advertise during those events. This likely pours more money into TV ads which helps their bottom line.
We likely see growth in viewership as the sport is now professional and these companies have a vested interest in higher viewership so more people see their uniform patches.
The amount of money being thrown in is huge. And will make college sports grow faster than other sports. Take Nascar who perfected the sponsor ads but due to horrible management over a few decades is a shell of itself.
Some Nascar sponsors could pull out or greatly reduce their Nascar presence in favor of college sports. I read its close to $10-20m for a full season car sponsorship on top Nascar teams. Those companies might decide to shift to college sports instead and reach way more fans.
Nascar is avg around 2m viewers per race x 36 where good college football is way higher. And can sponsor all sports year round. And reach a younger demo with logos being plastered all over campuses.

Agree but its here to stay. Sponsors only have so much ad money and I see college sports growing it meaning other sports will lose some.
Where it will get dicey is some sponsors will want character clauses and that could force schools to act on a player solely due to sponsor complaints. Its a slippery slope and if sponsor pours so much money in a school then players might be given a lost of do’s and don’ts to support them.
For example Monster deal will have issues due to it being a sports drink. Some schools are also contracted with other drinks. Plus if a player is offered a NIL deal by a competitor how does that work. Drinks are more visible a sponsor than say a bank.

It is what it is. College Football is its own pro league league. It’s just like professional soccer sponsorship.

It’s a shame how far we have come. When I was in school at Ole Miss, the buildings on campus were named after dignitaries and people of stature. Statesmen like LQC Lamar. It was an honor bestowed on people who accomplished something.
Vaught-Hemingway, after the greatest coach in OM history and the first athletics director who brought sports to Ole Miss.
One academic building was named after a WW1 war hero (I think that’s right, it was a long time ago) but, you get the point.
Now, if you donate enough money, they will happily plaster your name on something. Every gate at the stadium is named after this or that family. I think the freaking parking garage is named after someone who gave a bunch of money.
We’ll probably have the Pizza Hut Lyceum brought to you by the Richie Rich family foundation at some point! The TikTok Grove where every tree is named after some donor who couldn’t afford one of the concession stands.
It’s garish and gross, but here we are, the modern experience. The days of a dignified serene campus, the jewel of every state, have given way to corporate logos and insatiable money grabbing academia.
Oh well, only 5 weeks until my favorite team, The Mobile/Exxon Ole Miss Rebels brought to you by AutoZone, take to the Hollingsworth field! So Hotty Toddy, the official cheer of Zaxby’s!

I assume when you say people of stature you are including donors. Donate enough money to a school and have a building named after you, same as it has always been.

Those sponsors now own the players and the team, basically.
Arkansas players will be forced to eat Tyson chicken in promotional events before games or have scholarships dropped.
Ohio State players have been told that they must use Chase Bank for all their banking needs and investment opportunities or they won't be playing on Saturdays.
Washington State players AND coaches are now required to learn, from the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, how to weave baskets and then allow those baskets to be sold on the side of the road while the Indians get to keep all the profits.
Oddly, Notre Dame players will be required by SoFi to refinance loans for Stanford graduates in a tip of the hat to SoFI's origins.
UNLV players and coaches, after testing to make sure they don't have 'da Aids or something like that, will be required to donate plasma twice a week for Acesso Biologics.
It's getting crazy.

I don’t think buildings were named after donors until during my sophomore year (I think) they built a student athletic center that was named for the guy who donated the money for it, the Turner Center.

Thats why I want SpaceX. After a TD can launch mini rockets from behind the stadium. Then have parachutes on them landing in the stands and field and keep for souvenirs.

It's all so sad and dirty feeling. Imagine being a promising Arkansas player that NFL teams are salivating over.
Unfortunately, it's found out by the media that the player has a family member, even a distant cousin or step-brother, working for Pilgrim's Pride.
It's over for the player. Tyson will make sure his life is ruined, prospects taken away from him, and his reputation ruined for being a "traitor" and breaking his contract.

Currently the rules allow for 2-4×4 patches on uniforms, and 1-4x4 patch on equipment. This will probably change but topic for down the road.
tOSU recent deal was the Chase patch on 36 different teams for about $17m/yr. I don't know, but I bet soon some big team will split up each different sport jersey for individual patch deal per sport.
Otoh, maybe the Chase deal of tOSU is the "anchor " patch and the two remaining go to individual sport bidders?
