Stats can be misleading and this is one of those times. Burrow is not going to blow anyone away with his physical abilities but he’s gritty, poised in the pocket, and has a very high football IQ.

He completed 50% vs Southeastern Louisiana, so, that ain't gonna work.

his % will only get better if the OL continues to improve. SEL was a dumpster fire from the OL, and after some shifts over the next week, they got better. But will need to take another step or 2 to help him out.

Sure, don't disagree. I specifically responded to a post saying it was because he played good defenses.

He's been solid so far. He was fantastic on the last drive at Auburn.

I know, just a general statement. Not always looking for an argument.

That's a testament to two things:

1) Burrow has a strong supporting cast.
2) He's going to have to get better.

I believe his ceiling is pretty high. As much as I hate Urban Meyer, you can't deny he knows a thing or two about QBs. If Urban saw something in Burrow, you know it's there.

He's 3-0 with 2 wins over top 10 teams and has yet to turn the ball over, all that matters

Watch every throw he’s made and count the number of drops. He has hit the receiver in the number numerous times and they dropped it. The WRs are super young and are getting better. His % would be upper 50s if they caught these.

Can he?

Definitely. He was here for fall camp and that's about it before the season. We've got mostly young (but talented) receivers in this new (again) offense. And the OL has been inconsistent.

Get more chemistry with receivers who should mature, and more consistent pass protection (stepped up big time last week), and that % should go up.

Only 1 percentage really matters: win percentage.

JB is 100% in that category.

"Can he?" There have bee drops galore by the WR's that have hurt that percentage. He's had less than 2-3 mths to get their timing down. If you are a stats guy, good for you.The only stat that matters to most is, to quote Al Davis, " Just win baby, just win."

I will say I was surprised at the end of the Auburn game that he was under 50%. It didn't seem like he was missing a ton of throws.

This is a good observation, and I tend to agree... his completion % doesn’t really jive with what my eyes are seeing.

Watching Burrow, it doesn’t “feel” like he’s inaccurate ... to the contrary, it feels like he’s making the plays that need to be made. The final completion % really kind of leaves you scratching your head.

I’d like to see a compilation video of all of his incompletions.

And yet he was Money during that final, game winning drive, including on crucial 4th down attempts. Joe Cool.

Can you imagine when he gets that % rate up close to 60 or over?

If he does, LSU will destroy everyone outside of Bama and honestly. They would beat Bama but wouldn’t destroy them.

Most important stat is W’s.

Joe’s strength and biggest asset is his head.

He reads defenses and makes correct audibles at the line of scrimmage.

Another extremely important stat is 0 turnovers.

He is the real deal and will continue to improve.

I like him. After his first win I saw him interviewed. He looked about half nutty/insane. In a good way.

I think LSU is in good hands.

If it wasn’t for Bama fans continuously keeping everyone updated on Joey B’s stats, I would have no idea what his completion percentage was.
