you make good points. i think the pay for play is killing the interest even for fans of teams that stand to gain the most.

It definitely does for me, and I honestly didn't expect that.

My thoughts on the game overall aside, my personal interest has waned considerably since NIL and the transfer portal came along. And I support them both. Players should be paid what they're worth, and should not be restricted from transfering schools like any other student can. And being an Aggie, I know tilting the game in favor of programs willing to spend big money is probably a good thing for A&M football going forward.

But with so much roster churn and the introduction of essentially free agency, the football team has little to no connection to the school anymore. It's a totally seperate entity IMO, that mirrors NFL mercenary player model. And if I'm going to watch that, the NFL is just a far superior product. Better football, more parity, legit postseason.

I never thought I would ever prefer NFL to college, but it happened. And I'm as surprised as anyone. And I highly doubt I'm the only one saying that.

Only one school on both of those lists.

Tennessee beating #1 Alabama actually made history.

It's the 8th time this season that a #1 team has lost in the AP Poll which tied a record in the AP Poll era for most #1's that have lost in a single season that goes back 70 years.
